This is weird. I like the band though.

I feel like we’ve come so far to try to create safe spaces for as many people as possible to exist comfortably but sometimes I worry that has devolved into individuals valuing their comfort over the others.

From what I hear, women I know often feel that way. They resent accommodating men when other men won't accommodate them.

I have a hard time believing a head of security or a venue manager had the idea of #searchallmen

Mte, as if straight cis men would do this to other men. Lbr. It's rrally fishy and I second the other users saying there's better ways of making sure women aren't harassed but this ain't it.

They targeted men of color and older not cis straight presenting men. They weren't protecting the women, they were ousting the "others"

i knew as soon as this hit ONTD people would come up with excuses for this. there were a lot of men who said that the search felt violating and that moc were treated even worse than the other men. this is not how you protect anyone from assault and allowing venues to do this, esp in the UK which is extremely hostile to trans people, is even worse.

completely agree with you, particularly with the term 'pervert' being thrown around.

that being thrown around in an environment like the UK makes my stomach turn cause i know it's going to be aimed at someone innocent.

Also some of these men could be gay or non-binary. A lot of presumptions are being made here to allow invasive behavior.

Idk this sounds like the bands team demanded that security act upon some sort of threat and security had no idea how to go about that. The main issue is venues being so unprepared to deal with situations like this. The fact that they cancelled makes me think there was an actual threat and security was really bad and the band was aware of it and uncomfortable
