British band The Last Dinner Party, who released their debut album this year including hit Nothing Matters have come under fire over the past few days after a security issue at a recent show in Lincolnshire.
In the queue, a number of individual men (who were alone or older) were allegedly pulled in by security, searched, and asked a number of interrogating questions before they were allowed to go in, despite being ticket holders.
A tweet from an account which is now private stated that he had been taken into a room, told he might be a pervert, and searched. Another alleged that he was asked to prove his favourite songs and how long he had liked the band, and told if he didn't consent to being searched that he could not go in.
Following this, the show was cancelled minutes before its start time, after a member of the band suddenly fell ill.
The venue has since issued an apology and stated that they have started an investigation and that so far, what they understand is that an 'ad-hoc' change in practice happened after receiving information about behaviour at previous TLDP gigs.
Other tweets state the atmosphere of the night was unusual and uncomfortable.
The band have since responded to the incident and the venue's apology:

September 30, 2024 The band state that the security policies were implemented by the venue only and re-stated that the cancellation was due to health issues.
A follow-up tweet published within the hour was issued, cancelling their upcoming tour dates due to illness:
