i think the bigger issue is that the generation of people who watched these shows simply do not care about an adult version, or a reboot, of something that was of a particular time. none of these shows have a timelessness factor and therefore finding an audience will be difficult

Also some shows that fans want to revive just literally don't work with the characters being adults. Like Roswell the 90s/00s series was a teen Romeo and Juliet scenario with aliens, and you can't age up Romeo and Juliet because then they just look like crazy people. I tried to watch Roswell, New Mexico and those were some VERY unhealthy adults - especially Max. Buffy too was particularly about being a teen and carrying the allegorical and actual weight of the world on your shoulders, and it too struggled as she got older and the show just sort of dropped the allegorical part (Sabrina had the same struggle, and Veronica Mars also felt weird when revived). All the coming of age stories don't work when people were already supposed to come of age (Gilmore Girls, etc.), or if there's no good way to bring a larger cast back together without unraveling their growth. And most reboots never quite capture the magic of original casts, as others have stated ( ... )

iCarly was cute. I think it was working well, but I don't know if it has good enough ratings considering it was on Paramount+.

A terrible revival we don't talk enough about is The Game. People wanted that show to come back for years and they fucked it up royally, partially because it felt like the storylines they were doing were ones they held onto for too long and didn't make sense where the characters would be at. Also shifting it from multicam to single cam was weird.

I do hope that we get some sort of New Girl reunion season since season 7 was such trash. I think something like that could work since it’s the show isn’t really about plot but about their chemistry together and them doing stupid stuff. Whenever it was plot heavy was when it wasn’t good. The cast are all friends so I definitely think it could work - presuming Lamorne isn’t too big of a star now with his Emmy!!!!
