I’m ready for stan internet culture to take a massive hit because it’s just gotten to such a ridiculous point. Looking at stan twitter is wild because these people absolutely do not live in reality

They really don't! They don't see celebs as real people.

they really just be molding celebs into objects that they project their version of "perfection" onto and then get super upset when they get hit with the reality that their vision of them is just that, a fantasy lmao

So on this big music message board, some stan for Beyonce completely lost it when she showed up at The Lion King premiere in London. Complained about her weight, said something like she owed it to her fans to always be at performance weight (skinny) at all times. Crazy talk.

I'm not surprised people (not in this post) are making it seem like Chappell is being a brat cause some of them even think random not famous strangers being in public at all is a fair enough reason to record/take pics of them simply existing. The entitlement with celebrities is so bad but it's with fucking EVERYONE now. I can't tell you how many times I've seen pictures of regular people reading a book by themselves in public just cause someone saw them and think that they think they're better than everyone for just... READING. No one fucking knows how to act normal.

Yeah it's so strange. I've seen multiple pictures on my timeline because people will respond to tweets where someone posts a picture a woman alone reading at a bar or restaurant and they're being called pick mes or saying they just want attention and to seem smart.

I guess the joke’s on me because I like to read and I’m not embarrassed to do it in public? I used to pick a book as my lunchtime book and leave it in my car so that I could get a good 40 minutes of leisure reading during my lunch break at work. Who knew that minding my own business and not saying a word during lunch qualified as wanting attention?

Men in particular on stan twitter who are talking down to her about this can get fuuuucked, it's just misogyny and she's right to shut it down

She's right.

We live in a country where people get offended if a politician is asked legit questions in public, but we think it's ok to bother celebs when they are grocery shopping or taking their kids to school.

She got shot into fame super quickly so she skipped the normal adjustment period people the most celebrities seem to get.
The pressure to follow up her album is probably also unbelievably difficult and making the adjustment to fame even harder. She spent so long putting songs together for that album and like half the songs are songs that were doing pretty well for her way before the album came out. I can’t imagine dealing with all of that.

At the same time though, some of these things are things that come with fame unless you make a serious effort to live as a hermit in the middle of nowhere. People are going to come up to you in public and ask for your picture.
