Even ten years ago, I thought this was a dumb idea 😂. I loved all the ball pit memes that came out of it though.

Tumblr has basically become purity hell. If you like darker things, basically dead dove; do not eat kind of shit, you're an awful person, problematic and deserve to die. And if you re-blog something from someone who (usually anon) has decided is an awful person, you are also awful and deserve to die. Even if you don't follow the person who made the actual post

Basically, if it's not pure and cute and happy, you deserve to die. I miss when tumblr was super fucking weird and not a dick measuring contest on who cares the most.

YES THANK YOU! I just mentioned that above! The purity fuckery is insane over there. The amount of times I've reblogged something about the subject and I go to read the the tags & reblogs to see those exact people in there still going "yeah but no seriously if you write/read this or enjoy x character, literally burn in hell"

I think what makes it worse is that a lot of the time its not just young people with that opinion.

And then they think that you actually want to do it in real life! I don't want ANY of that to happen in real life. I love the manga Killing Stalking, but on tumblr, it makes me a gross weirdo who wants to go out and do it myself. No, I just like darker stuff. I can tell fiction from reality. Liking horror movies doesn't mean I want to go out and murder a bunch of teenagers camp counselors for having premarital sex

Then they'll tag the character they hate and get angry when people are like 'hey, if you hate the character, don't tag them, people who follow the tag don't want to see that'

And then they'll call anyone over 20 a pedo and weirdo for writing fanfiction or cartoons or anything fun. Kids, who do you think is writing your favorite fics? It's not the 15 year old!

I swear people also overshare and basically dox themselves as well. We've got 15 year olds there saying their name, age and state (sometimes city) in their bio.

First of all SCREAMING because now I'm trying to remember if you're the one I encouraged to read KS on here or not lol but either way YES HELLO FELLOW STAN, THEY CAN PRY MY LOVE FOR THAT COMIC OUT OF MY COLD DEAD DOVE HANDS!!!! I read it as it was being released and they will never take away my adoration for it. Had it come out in the tumblr hey day it would have been WAY more popular. I could go on ad nauseum about the story and the "anti's" for it but let me not lol

a tumblr con was such a weird thing to have happened. It implies there were Tumblr-famous creators who would all leave their bedrooms to meet eachother.

VidCon makes sense. TwitchCon makes sense. But a gathering of people who make things based around aesthetics or fandoms or pr0n accounts, i mean, that doesn't really translate into something to meet in person for.
