but..I've been listening to all 3 for years 😭. I saw Charli back in 2013 with Marina, and listened to Sabrina back when she was singing about thumbs!

It definitely helps that none of the big pop releases didn't make much of a mark after release week.

chappell won't last. charli's been a star. sabrina could go either way imo.

Just curious - why do you think Chappel won’t last?

I also think Sabrina’s long term success can go either way. This album will be a pivotal one for her imo.

i mean i could always be wrong, but i don't see her as an artist who will branch out beyond a certain point to keep things interesting for a broad audience. i can see her having cult success, similar to a marina, a carly rae, or a (deep inhale) melanie martinez.

Good point. Yeah - she could settle into a niche audience.

A lot of people are already comparing her visual “looks” and performance art to early Gaga, which I haven’t put much thought into yet whether I think that’s fair or unfair; but sustaining that kind of interest on the visual performance elements would be difficult long term.

I guess a lot of it would also depend on the music; she’s only had 1 album so far. I think she’s vocally talented so maybe that will help as well.

I've been thinking lately that I was lucky to see Chappell last year before her big rise. Happy for her, but it was also nice being in a smaller venue

I feel this way about Charli. I saw in 2013 in an extremely small venue where only like 40-50 people were in the audience. It was so cool.
