Dua Lipa had some amazing numbers. I saw that she just added Dance The Night to the digital version of her new album, supposedly to inflate its streamings and Forbes published a story about her flopping. I hate when people rejoice on female artists “failing”.

I have yet to hear her album, but she just posted about the Palestine genocide, so I’m now very favorable of her.

I really like the album. It doesn't have the highs of Future Nostalgia but I like what a chill rooftop party vibe it has.

I'm really hating this flop narrative on dua's latest album. it's a sleeper hit for me.

I thought she considered herself an album artist 😂 … remember Willow’s free fall from the #1 spot?

she kept herself off Spotify forever in favor of Apple Music exclusivity, and I think that did have an effect on her numbers for a while. Lover is only so high up because it has the like. only legitimate hit she’s released since 1989 on it imo (and by legitimate I mean it was not the single to launch the album that got the big push on release day)

I do think her quote about the album is sort of funny, like she was some indie artist who blew up and not someone who had a music industry machine behind her. And I say that as someone who really likes her music.

tbf lots of artists sign with huge labels and still flop, like sabrina was a disney kid and it took her almost 10 years to blow up so lol

We only have to look at Sky Ferreira to see how even being on a label means nothing

It’s wild that she accomplished this with no remixes, no features, no deluxe, just a concise 11-track beloved album.

Even though I’m not a huge fan of this album aside from a couple of songs and I’m a much bigger fan of Guts, Sour is gonna be remembered as a classic. Good 4 Olivia!
