I don't understand why the Emmys are today. I feel like it's getting overshadowed by all of the film awards.

Right like Jeremy Allen White looked kind of annoyed when he won last night lol. "Great now I have to give another fucking speech."

I wonder if the Succession and Beef people are feeling the same way.

Well weirdly, the Bear is up for season 1 at the Emmy’s because of the delay so it’s all a bit strange

Maybe there's a silver lining here, where stylists will have the confidence/ability to edit more going forward and we'll see some more interesting expressions from stylists on their clients. It could also be an opportunity for independent or less known designers to have their looks seen as stylists cast around for other options.

Or maybe they'll just keep calling in favours, idk.

Yes!

I actually hate head to toe looks on red carpets, they're so boring.

stylists are being forced to "edit" themselves in order to achieve a look

I'm piecing together and using my editorial stylist eye to create something that's unique in its own way with what I have on hand.

this is what stylists used to do before brands started requiring celebs dress head-to-toe in one designer and i think it made events a lot more fun and interesting.

I find it weird that Ilaria seems like she's kind of complaining?? Maybe it's just the written quote reading that way, but my stylist friends want to be creative and not be stuck with head to toe looks right off the runway.

IKR? If I wanted a head to toe look, I would just go directly to the designer instead of hiring a stylist. If all the stylists are doing these days is showing their clients pictures of the head to toe looks that the design houses already put together, are they really worth paying?

I know this isn't the site for it so excuse me, but multiple genocides are happening currently and these elite are like squabbling for designers....dresses...outfits......idk I can't even put words into what I feel rn it's like beyond hunger games shite

I know it's always been this way, but I don't get how these people aren't embarrassed going up to accept their meaningless awards.

it’s kinda funny how we’re watching what is essentially a work event for them

It’s their job. If you won an award for your job would you say “no, I cannot accept because people are dying”? You wouldn’t. And if you said you wouldn’t you’d be lying.

It is possible. One of my friends works for a major hotel doing their events and stuff. She said that it was crazy once the restrictions were lifted. She didn't have a day off for months because of the backlog and scheduling of new events during the same time.

I hope she’s at least able to make some extra money with the extra work. Idk if a position like hers would allow for that. I imagine some ppl are salaried and maybe the extra work doesn’t necessarily mean extra money, esp since you’re already making up for a drought
