Wow. I knew about this story but I always believed Ashton didn’t go inside or thought that she had left because she didn’t answer the door because he was hours late.

If this is true, then wow. Imagine seeing someone gruesomely murdered and your immediate thought is not to cal 9/11 but to call your manager and be concerned about your reputation? The fuck

that was his story, something about thinking the blood was a red wine stain and he had his fingerprints on her door

she was stabbed 47 times

i cannot imagine not calling the fucking cops

I saw a documentary on the Hollywood Ripper, but it’s been a few years ago so I forget some of the details. 47? Jesus.

I CANT imagine not immediately calling 9-1-1. It would be like a reflex. I can’t imagine it being something one would need to consider or mull over.

Just shows that he values his public image over another human life.

I remember when this was making the rounds back when he testified and people seemed to be a lot more sympathetic to him. Love this moment for him.

I was naively sympathetic too. Because we knew for a fact someone else did it so I felt for him since he was cleared. I didn’t even think that he would’ve lied about not going in and that he didn’t call the police. Holy fuck.

I can't remember if I commented on the post on ONTD at the time, but I feel like there's more info out now than there was back when the trial happened. Now I'm a bit unsure about the whole red wine thing. If the party was days before he thought she left that stain there for days? That just seems odd. Even though I know our brains can do weird things when confronted with really jarring things like that, the whole premise and what we now know of him makes me suspicious of him. Not that he killed her, but just his story of that day.

Yeah, same. I think we can all imagine or have experienced situations where we had mistaken something as innocent when it was a sign of something bad. Especially with him going to a party and acting like everything was normal...

Ugh disgusting. And I’m even more disturbed that supposedly his child trafficking non-profit doesn’t even really help children!!! And that he basically watched CSA and then what?? Has he brought down any pedofiles??

Ugh.

idk about the non-profit but someone posted a clip in the last post of him tearfully testifying before Congress about his work against child sex trafficking, and he said he'd been shown video of a child his child's age (so, toddler at the time, i think) being raped by a grown man. He was very emotional about it. But there is NO excuse or justification IMO for a non-law enforcement individual to watch such a horrendous tape. It is not necessary to see something like that to support the mission, like what the everloving fuck? It's disgusting that he'd do that and just another way to re-victimize the child.

Wtf? How would he even access that? Like did police show him?

I took a class about human trafficking for my psych degree and we had to watch films about children being sex trafficked (which were bad enough without the actual csa content) and listened to lecturers talk about horrific things they'd seen (I actually had to walk out of one lecture to go cry in the hallway). You don't need to actually see something like that to be profoundly affected, to know how bad it is, or to be trained in spotting signs of trafficking. And like you said, that's re-victimizing the child.
