Wildfires in Maui kill 80, deadliest natural disaster in state history

The death toll from the wildfires in Maui rose to 80 late Friday. The Hawaiian island was again put on edge after a fresh fire risk prompted an evacuation order for a town to the north of Lahaina.

I knew it was bad, but when I saw the aftermath, it really sunk in just how devastating the fire was...

The fact that people want to deny climate change and refuse to address it just blows my mind. What more do you need? Ocean waters are literally cooking animals alive, wildfires where there weren't many before, flooding from glacier melting... I just--

Whenever disasters happen I'm always weary of donation pages being opportunistic or worse.

jesus, it's terrifying how fast nature can destroy things that took years and years to build or grow. gone in a matter of hours or minutes.

Terrifying. Here in Sweden we've had floods lately due to the storm Hans, it seems to have hit Norway the worst though with landslides and thousands of people needing to be evacuated. Climate change is real, people!

Yeah slovenia has been hit hard by floods as well.
I don't understand how some people still can deny climate change when these natural disasters happen more frequent and their impact gets bigger.

Pretty sure my ex lives in Maui. I don't know if he's in Lahaina, but I'm almost too scared to check.

The devastation to Maui is unreal.
