Terrifying. Here in Sweden we've had floods lately due to the storm Hans, it seems to have hit Norway the worst though with landslides and thousands of people needing to be evacuated. Climate change is real, people!

Try arguing that with insane conservatives who will deny it till they burn to death.

Yeah slovenia has been hit hard by floods as well.
I don't understand how some people still can deny climate change when these natural disasters happen more frequent and their impact gets bigger.

Right? But far too many of those people will either say it's "God's will" or "just weather". As long as it doesn't directly affect them they don't give a shit.

What kills me the most are the people who acknowledge that climate change is real and then slow walk changes (like ending our dependence on fossil fuels) for fiscal reasons. We should not be bound by profit mechanisms when trying to save the planet.

THIS. I live in a big oil and gas producing area and people don't argue about the reality of climate change anymore, it's all "but the ~ECONOMY~!" when you talk about transitioning to renewable energy. Like, don't know how much low taxes and slightly higher than national average income is going to help when you're trying to escape the now yearly wildfires that happen here. Don't expect the O&G companies to pitch in when your house burns down for the second time in four years.

One example is the UK - recently the Tories narrowly won a byelection because the mayor of London had extended the emission zone and it put some people out of pocket. Now the Tories are walking back many of their environmental policies to try to win the next election, rather than offering people grants or help with going greener.

I saw the PM bemoaning the war on cars and was just disgusted. This summer has had numerous climate change linked weather disasters and this idiot is pushing for more petrol guzzling vehicles.

They will do anything to stay in power. They have to lose the next election

This is for real our future, everything that isn't flooded is on fire!

yeah we are so unprepared for any of this, bridges and roads have been unusable all summer even before hans. its been so odd to either have 30 degrees for months in sweden or not a single sunny day all summer. shit is really hitting the fan.
