I'm one of the few (maybe only? lol) ONTDers who isn't here for Neve's acting so I don't care that she's not coming back. I can honestly say there wasn't a single Scream movie I watched bc of Syd, she's one of my least favorite final girls and that's largely on Neve's performance.

AGREED. I feel like hardly anyone agrees but I don't think she's a good actress at all! She'd be up there in favorite final girls for me if it was just a different actress in the role.

I thought she was good in Scream and only Scream. I hate horror movies and and well past forcing myself to watch them for ✨The Experience✨ so I’ve only seen the first. I tried watching Party of Five when it aired and she was the most forgettable one… even compared to Scott Wolf.

Regardless, she did carry the series so I’m not mad about her wanting that paycheck. I think that they won’t even negotiate with her next time if this film makes bank.

tbh I find making gifs a pain in the ass. I used to for one of my older anime tumblrs and I got sick of it quickly. Maybe I was doing it badly? But to snip frames, to get it the right size, to make sure it's not pixilated, then adjusting colors, etc etc. It's just too much work for me. I'll let others do it. (though I do hate how fandom tumblrs seem to be putting their usernames on the gifs again. I just find it overkill and dramatic and hypocritical how people whine about people taking their gifs but they are technically stealing from shows for the gifs.)

I think this one being more successful could work in Neve’s favor. They could up the budget for the next one as a result and pay her what she wants, plus bringing Sidney back into the fold would definitely turn it into more of an event.

yeah this is how Hollywood operates. They already think she "made a fuss" and the public rallying behind her really died down quickly. Haven't seen a single big name fan who has seen it thus far talk about the lack of Syd. Sounds like they thought she was inconsequential from the beginning and it kills me that the numbers may prove them right
