I genuinely wonder what she has to rehab. It's not like her and John had reputations. Basically, I am not sure if this is a thing outside of ontd (and similar accounts).

They kinda did, didn't they? He was known as a wife guy and a funny old-timey dude trapped in a young man's body (his role on Difficult People parodied that and it was actually really funny ngl) and she was basically a hot Cool Girl, at least according to some. I feel like his rep has been totally blown up and hers has been 1,000% confirmed 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think am so out of the loop on pop culture. You are probably completely right.
I just feel like I don't know what the general public talk about anymore since I no longer hear secondhand conversations as much. I should bring it up to my friends and see what the general tone is. I just have to be ready to explain the whole situation if/when they have no clue, haha.

Not a mom so I have no clue and I'm not saying it's what's causing her problems (none of my business) but I'm curious if the obsession to lose the baby weight as fast as possible could be causing supply issues with breast milk?

A lot of different things can affect milk supply, but often if supplements and other techniques aren't working it's often a fundamental issue with either hormones or the literal amount of milk-producing tissue you have from birth. Some people just aren't built to exclusively breastfeed and people rarely talk about it.

My sister has this issue, as well. Since her youngest had health issues and she really wanted him to have breast milk she was fortunate to receive donated breast milk from a network of mothers who had excess.

moms sharing breast milk is one of the most beautiful and one of my favorite things humanity (read: women) has ever done

I have a friend who was a milk machine and donated 30,000 oz. of milk to a local bank. They had her come in to speak and gave her an award and shit, it was awesome

I had low supply and it's crazy how judged and angry it can make you feel. There are soooo many "breastfeeding is the only way to feed your baby. Anything else makes you a lazy dirtbag"-style comments on social media.

SAME, I had low supply on top of latching issues due to the anatomy of my breast. They don't tell you when you have big ol tiddies and soft areola with short nipples it's very hard to get a good latch. Couldn't use a nipple shield, it caused me to bleed.

And the lactation consultants at hospitals will swear up and down you're just doing it wrong. I wasn't even leaking any colostrum in the first 2-3 days after giving birth and they would NOT believe me. Nothing came out. It's the most frustrating experience ever.

Don't get me started on lactation consultants. Honestly, I went to a breastfeeding clinic and an incredibly nice woman watched the latch, weighed the baby, and was like, "Everything's perfect. You just don't make enough. Don't you want to spend time being a mom and not have to pump all day?"

I did. And yet I kept pumping for another six months. I should've taken that advice much sooner. But I was so grateful to her for being a "breastfeeding expert" who had the courage to say, "It's fine to just not do this."

Ugh I feel you on taking the advice sooner. My lactation consultant was similar. She said I could do a ton of things to try to up my supply, but it’s all so a mental health thing.. trying to feed the baby, then bottle feed the baby, then try to pump.. but what do you do with the baby? It was way too much.

I will never shame a woman for any struggles she faces for being a woman.
I'm sincerely glad that all of my friends are now talking about the hell pregnancy and postpartum is on the body in every way. I'm just talking the simple fact that your body turns on you and you get hemorrhoids after you fucking carried and housed another being for 10 months. This is not common knowledge and it fucking should be when a large fucking portion of the population experience it. If we are able to better understand how difficult it is, maybe society can start to properly value it whether that's better pto, work/life balance, idk...

The hemorrhoids. WHY???

Also you're just stinkier afterwards.

But also, I am in my late 30s (oooh, that hurt to type, haha). I have a lotttttt of friends who have kids. Basically every single friend back home has multiple children. It wasn't until a friend where I am currently had a child in September 21 that I found out about the hemorrhoids!! This is after 25+ pregnancies and births back home. It blows my mind.
