My sister has this issue, as well. Since her youngest had health issues and she really wanted him to have breast milk she was fortunate to receive donated breast milk from a network of mothers who had excess.

moms sharing breast milk is one of the most beautiful and one of my favorite things humanity (read: women) has ever done

I have a friend who was a milk machine and donated 30,000 oz. of milk to a local bank. They had her come in to speak and gave her an award and shit, it was awesome

It sounds like a lie but I kid you not lol.

She's also a very all-or-nothing person who pushes herself way too fucking much in every facet of life though, so take that as you will

That's wonderful of her. My nephew has Down Syndrome and was born smaller and with heart issues, the poor thing - had to be fed through a tube in his nose for a long time. He really needed the extra help and people like your friend helped him give him the start he needed. He's six and healthy and strong now, and exceeding his expected milestones. Babies like him who need the benefits of breast milk are definitely lucky there are women willing and able to donate.

I’m screen shotting this and sending it to her, it’ll make her night. ❤️ I’m so glad your nephew is doing well!

I know someone who is donating her breast milk to babies who need it most and I admire her for it. Watching her videos on packing as much milk to be shipped off at a time I cannot wrap my head around being able to produce so much supply!

i'm pregnant and would like to know more about this? i don't think i would be able to do the shipment thing b/c of work, but maybe i should talk to a local bank depending on how things go.

It really makes such a difference - I know the mothers of the babies must be so grateful. My sister could still produce milk, but not consistently. There's also that added stress you feel when you're meant to be able to take care of your baby but your body doesn't let you. Women who donate breast milk are honestly life changers.
