dumbo's eyes creeped me out in every trailer

is 2019 the year of creepy cgi eyes or something? do all of the studio heads have a very specific fetish?

I don't understand how anyone can watch this movie. It made me so upset as a child, like, the whole thing was just too heartbreaking. I don't want to watch this or the animated version at all.

agreed. i feel like i could handle the animated one better but just barely. a life-like cute elephant makes it even worse. my heart can't take it!

IA, Dumbo was such a heartbreaking film to watch as a kid that I think I saw it once and vowed never again. It's one of my least favorite Disney films

I haven't been excited for any Tim Burton movies for quite a while now.

i used to love him but the only burton movie i'd watch on purpose today is probably ed wood or the batman films. the last one i actively was interested in going to see was sweeney todd and that has to be at least a decade back now.

This was gonna bomb like I've been saying for months. And with such a high budget (higher than Captain Marvel, wtf??)
I never watched the original and I have no desire to watch this one, either.

when i was picking tickets for it yesterday almost all the screenings were half-empty (or less) and i live in NYC. so... $50m sounds like a high expectation to me, to be honest.

Deadline Hollywood is so it could be in the 40s.

I tend to think even that is going to be generous.

Saw it last night and while Dumbo was certainly CUTER THAN ALL HELL the movie really was just...not good. It was v much all over the place and they tried so hard to get you to feel for the humans but they were 100% overshadowed by Dumbo.

The kid actors were not good at all :(

It really seems like Tim didn't even try with this one. It had all the makings of being so good but it fell SO flat.

We were SO robbed of the circus aesthetic and Queen Colleen's costumes.

The pink elephants sequence was really shoehorned in tbh.

Overall, cute because of Dumbo, but super forgetable. Dumbo didn't deserve this!
