Didn't read the initial leak post at
masseffect. So glad I didn't. And ever so glad the mods took it down.
I feel so bad for the devs who have put so much time and effort into this series. Heads should roll. I especially hope EA presses some kind of charges against the hacker who posted the info. That wasn't journalism; that was a total disrespect to Bioware

I am so disappointed this happened, and now I feel like the few ME resources I do use are like a Minesweeper field. What if I start posting the finished chapters of my fic, only to have somebody leave a review going, "Well, we already know that can't happen because in ME3 spoiler spoiler spoiler leaked plot details!"?

That's why I'm not going to post any fan art to DeviantArt until March. Or at least, if I do, I'm disabling comments.
All it takes is one inconsiderate asshole to ruin things for everyone.

Also, because the my first reads a lot like waaah, poor me, I should clarify what I meant was I am disappointed this happened to BioWare. All the usual negative fanwank must be unbearable now, and how do you handle all your hard work being undermined like that? It must feel like getting elbowed in the gut.
We should do something nice for Patrick.

Agreed.
But at this point, would it feel like pouring salt into a wound I wonder? (only playing devil's advocate)

What a clusterfuck. I feel really bad for BW.

When I make the Thursday Boot Camp posts, I'll ask them not to post WIPs or talk about the leak content referencing leak info and save it for the main leak post. Or should I discontinue posting Thursday Boot Camp so as not to ostracize the people who want to talk about spoilers? IDEK.

Also, I'm surprised you made sense of my dyslexic ramble. -.- Apologies.
It was supposed to have read - "post WIPs referencing leak info or talk about leak content". Good grief. :/

I won't lie, it does make the idea of finishing/continuing 'Omega After Midnight' easier, but at the same time (especially since I was wringing my hands about this when outlining the story)... I don't want to spoil even a drop of information for anyone else, no matter how largely unimportant it might be.
Like I said over in another LJ, this is why we can't have nice things. Someone, without fail, has to go around and mess it up for the rest of us. Disappoint and dare I say even disgusting. =/

And you don't have to dare to say it. I'm shouting it at the top of my lungs. >_> I care not what anyone thinks of me as a result. I find it repulsive. I am so disappointed with the whole thing. That was not journalism. That was just an asshole wanting to get attention. I think Bioware's doing the best they can given the situation.
As I told evilsherbear last night (and accidentally ranted on her journal D;), I don't have much of a fondness for the media in general. So there you go.

*puts on her naive face* Oh, I can't think why.

It's just attention grabbing. There's no damn point.
EDIT: The WIKI has spoilers? But...but...but... Research! There are even spoiler warnings for the games that are already out on the wiki, can't they do the same for the one that isn't, yet?

No, there's no point at all. :/ Ruined everyone's fun.
From what I understood, they were character-based spoilers and decuvieri confirmed what I assumed about the Wiki being spoiler-intensive. Do not want. So I'm avoiding it. I haven't checked to see what's been edited; but the edits pop up on the first page for me. Ugh. I may PM someone who doesn't mind spoilers to see what all is 'safe' and what isn't.

I usually check things by googling and end up directly on the page of the planet or what-have-you, so I don't see the new-edits bit. I'll have to avoid character pages. Hmph.
