Didn't read the initial leak post at masseffect. So glad I didn't. And ever so glad the mods took it down.

I feel so bad for the devs who have put so much time and effort into this series. Heads should roll. I especially hope EA presses some kind of charges against the hacker who posted the info. That wasn't journalism; that was a total disrespect to Bioware ( Read more... )

I'm so glad they did too.

Poor mods, that would be a lot of work on their behalf. We should be able to self-govern. I hope.

The build-up to ME2 was fairly decent, but memory has a tendency to wear rose colored goggles.

I'm leery of going to defcon 5 on this because the OP didn't break any rules. We didn't, for instance, disallow chatter about the demo leak, because the scale of the leaked info was pretty minor. A few characters, some tidbits, but no major story points we didn't already know. The scope and timing of this new leak was just so extreme and out of the blue that we decided unusual action was required.

Thus far, things have been pretty calm. Once we get a space set up for the spoiler-hounds to vent in, things should be relatively safe for the rest of us.
