I have some cute yarn that I recently acquired and was thinking of knitting my little cousin a felted hat and mittens. Problem is, I know nothing about felting lol. Does anyone know a good pattern for a hat and/or mittens for a beginner?

Well I have never felted before but I know you can only felt with real yarn (meaning not acrylic/cotton, etc).
If you have real 100% yarn, then I think you only have to finish your project and wash it in the washing machine. But search on yahoo, there are tons of tutorials out there :)

I'm not sure about the ease of the patterns (I haven't tried to knit any of them yet), but there are a lot of them, and they're fun to look through. Also, there are articles at the bottom (under "other techniques") that I've found rather helpful.

I've never felted anything before- but make sure you're using wool. I think that's the key to it.
