Angelina's eyes narrowed slightly, nothing noticeable, as she tried to predict where this was going. She smiled at him all the same though, saying, "Definitely wouldn't want that," as she looked down at the neat paperwork on her lap, and thought about the letter in her hand. Of course! she thought, the smile widening.

"I just have to make sure every thing's in the proper order. Wouldn't want to have it be wrong," she said, quickly sliding the note into the centre of the paperwork and leaning over to hand it to Percy. Her heart was racing, almost like when she used to be in the middle of doing something wrong on purpose. She loved that feeling; it was almost like welcoming home an old friend.

"No," Percy agreed. He let a hand fall to his desk, drumming his fingers impatiently atop the stacks of parchments that littered his desk. He thought of the reports he had to finish by morning and the slew of interviews he was to conduct in the mean time. There was no way he'd finish. He wanted to reach across the desk and snatch the papers from her hands. He didn't have time for her to 'make sure everything was in proper order.' She should have seen to that before she walked in the door ( ... )

Angelina ignored the fact that Percy had seemed a bit annoyed by the amount of time she took in giving him the documents, instead focusing on the look on his face when he discovered the letter.

"Got it from the source." She said, knowing better than to say Ginny's name. She smiled, reassured that she wouldn't be running from arrest - at least not immediately - crossing her arms over her chest and dropping all pretense of being the perfect candidate for a job.

"Probably is," she shrugged, "but if I didn't do something dangerous every once in a while, my life would be incredibly dull."

Percy let the letter lay splayed open atop Angelina's paperwork and took a cleansing breath. He resisted every urge to reach out for his wand and hex her six ways from Sunday. "I'm glad you can be so flippant with your life," he said, his voice level, "that's a quality that might come in handy should you displease one of your superiors. Though, that you're so cavalier with a life that does not belong to you troubles me, to be frank ( ... )

It was like a switch flicked on inside her, and the somewhat joyous attitude she'd held onto moments ago disappeared in the barest flash that brought a dark look to her face. She sat forward, fists clenched - she mometntarily amused herself with the thought that it might help with trying not to hit him - and thought to herself that she might have to tell Ginny she was owed double.

"I'm sorry that I'm not as cautious as you are. It must be hard, all that work that goes into it. Perhaps, and this is just an idea, of course, I should return to sitting on my arse for another two years. Maybe then, if I'm lucky, I'll have the greatest luck of watching my mum or dad executed in Diagon Alley, this time. Would that trouble you less, then? Would it put you at ease to know that the way I was before saved people who were already putting their lives at risk for years while not doing squat for people who hadn't done a damn thing in life to deserve it?"

She took the papers from him as politely as she could manage. "My attitude is here to stay, Mr ( ... )
