Percy let the letter lay splayed open atop Angelina's paperwork and took a cleansing breath. He resisted every urge to reach out for his wand and hex her six ways from Sunday. "I'm glad you can be so flippant with your life," he said, his voice level, "that's a quality that might come in handy should you displease one of your superiors. Though, that you're so cavalier with a life that does not belong to you troubles me, to be frank."
He paused and then added. "We should all be so lucky to enjoy a bit of dullness here and there."
Percy longed for the dull and mundane - degnoming the garden, eating warm pumpkin pie fresh from the oven as his Mum clucked at him to have a second helping, watching his younger siblings run and play as he struggled to read about something that proved to be of no consequence these days - and here she was just dismissing the idea.
"Though, if it's dullness your after, perhaps a job at the Ministry isn't the best fit." He pulled Ginny's note from the middle of the stack and then shuffled the papers back together. He held them out to Angelina. "Unless of course you care to reconsider your attitude."
