"No," Percy agreed. He let a hand fall to his desk, drumming his fingers impatiently atop the stacks of parchments that littered his desk. He thought of the reports he had to finish by morning and the slew of interviews he was to conduct in the mean time. There was no way he'd finish. He wanted to reach across the desk and snatch the papers from her hands. He didn't have time for her to 'make sure everything was in proper order.' She should have seen to that before she walked in the door.
Finally, after an eternity, he reached out and accepted the proffered papers. He laid then on the desk and flipped through each page individually - to make sure they were there, not paying any mind to what was written on the documents. It was there, near the middle of the stack after he smiled reassuringly at Angelina that a piece of parchment stood out.
There, against the neat copperplate script of official documents, was Ginny's own spiky handwriting - the handwriting he'd helped cultivate. He felt his throat grow dry. He fingered the letter, lifting it by its corner. "Where did you get this?" he asked, his voice a whisper.
Thoughts of his father - their father - floated through his mind, followed closely by thoughts of reunion and reconciliation.
"It's dangerous to have this," he said. What he really wanted to do was demand that he be taken to Ginny. His eyes flickered to the Wanted Poster on the board behind Angelina's head. It had been too long since he'd seen his sister in the flesh.
