Percy flipped through the preliminary interview documents, making sure he knew what questions it was he was going to be asking. This task had been thrown on him last minute. He was supposed to be rubbing elbows with the rich and influential people at some Important Meeting, but he had favors to repay ( ... )

Of all the people Angelina expected to find waiting for her, Percy was not it. In fact, beyond her job being just a tad bit easier, Angelina was surprised. Now, she just needed a way to slip it to him.

Angelina took a seat, folding her hands in her lap, an eyebrow raising slightly. "Just entry-level work in the MLE Department." she said in answer to his question.

Percy nodded his head. "It's a very good job opportunity," he said. Though, he was beginning to have doubts about the truth of that statement himself. "Entry level in the Magical Law Enforcement," he muttered. His eyes scanned the list. "Well, there are openings for clerical work or janitorial services. Though the janitorial positions don't offer any hope of transfer or advancement." He pushed his glasses up his nose and looked at her. "Clerical positions allow you to move up."

He folded his hands. "I take it you'd be interested in clerical work. You were a bright student from what I recall." Percy paused. "And why specifically in the Magical Law Enforcement department? Generally, entry level positions aren't assigned by department."

Percy had an uneasy feeling where she was concerned. He couldn't say why - but it was there. He had learned to listen to those feelings and he was going to press the issue.

Angelina told herself, even as she caught the caution in his voice, that she was going to do just fine. She sat up straight, the folded letter from Ginny in her clasped hands, and looked Percy dead-on. She'd been lying for decades (back when she used to play that Olivia was the evil older sister with her parents) without ever getting caught up, and now, today, when she had two things to accomplish in one fell swoop, was not the day for to bugger it all up.

"No other department feels right, is all. I mean, I reviewed them all, considered just applying and going wherever I was put, pros/cons, everything. But I feel like..." Angelina trailed off, looking away for the briefest moment as she thought of where to go next and making it sound real, before looking back at him again. "You ever feel like there's a place where you belong? Not destiny, because I had enough of that with Divinations back at Hogwarts. But - the Magical Law Enforcement department does that for me, and I want a chance. I've been sitting on my arse for three years doing ( ... )

No other department feels right?, Percy asked himself. He wasn't quite sure what to make of that admission. He'd learned that asking for specific assignments was a red flag concern; something he was supposed to watch out for. He steepled his hands in front of him. "Hm," he said. "Well, latent ambition is better than none at all," he added, wryly.

He looked down at the list of questions laid out before him. Some were meant to weed out Order supporters, spies. Others were meant to weed out those not particularly dedicated to service. Percy sighed. "Though, I wouldn't mention any rot about Destiny or Divination where important people can hear." He smiled. "You'll lose all credibility as a worthy applicant."

"Now, have you brought along the requested documentation of your schooling and such?"
