Woke up this morning to find a dusting of snow on the ground -- not a lot, but its cold enough that it won't melt away by noon. Well, Friday afternoon the Guv decided to place the entire state on Tier 3 restrictions. Ironically, the state across the river is doing even worse, COVID-wise according to yesterday's newspaper. Not certain how that will affect things at work.

Strange how one gets used to change: Bel was set up in the living room for only three days, but I still look over to that spot to see if she needs anything. Jethro went out on each of the our three porches multiple times just this morning, then whined piteously; I can't tell if he's looking for Bel -- or the neighbor's cat. Beldandy passed away in her sleep last night around 10:30 p.m.

She'd pretty much stopped eating except for deli lunch meat, but we'd found a way to get her to drink some water (needle-less turkey baster squirted through her teeth - I actually cheered when she swallowed). When Bel went in for her Annual shots, Dr. Jennifer was concerned about her blood work -- Bel was anemic and there was something else she wanted to check again in 6 months. so we've been taking iron supplements. Before we saw the vet I was worried that Bel wasn't eating properly so had started supplementing the free-range kibble with the occasional ( Read more... )

The Good News:  Mom made it through her hip surgery in July with flying colors; did rehab and physical therapy, was walking good, had been cleared to drive by herself, and last week her doctor declared that her x-rays looked good and that things were A-OK....

The Bad News: Last Sunday (four days ago), Mom rolled over in bed, and dislocated the hip. ( Read more... )

So far I've ordered Onglyza for me, and two different joint care supplements for Bel. That's not counting the heart-worm preventative for both Bel and Jethro which I will pick up from the vet at lunchtime today.
