... well, not exactly creeks, its the annual 'Caught between two rivers and its been raining a lot' thingy. We even got tornado sirens on Saturday.
Pastor got all excited about President Trump's 'Open the Churches NOW' order on Friday and told me to prepare a 'Late Easter' service for May 24th, so I went up to the church (had planned to do so anyway to update and send out the Memorial Day Sunday bulletin), and then called some of the church officers because it was my thought that this was actually something that Session (or at least the Worship Committee) should make that decision.... after a flurry of phone calls, Pastor called me back and said the Memorial Day service was good, and we weren't going to open the church completely until June... maybe.
Thing is, I understand why Pastor is so anxious to get things rolling again; even though his chemo is going well, he's still looking at his own mortality sooner rather than later, and he's become quite invested in our congregation and wants to be with us when we celebrate 'belated Easter', and the church's 175th anniversary. But fully opening up the church is not the President's decision, not the Governor's, not the Presbytery's, and not the Pastor's -- it's Session's decision....
*sigh*
I have finished the leaf motif shawl, except for the blocking and the fringe. I've read the English translated scanlations of "Silver Diamond", a manga that TokyoPop stopped printing at Volume 9... it didn't go quite the way I expected, but the ending was satisfying. Next on my list of 'canceled' manga (canceled in the sense that official English translations were no longer being published in the U.S.A.) to try to catch up on: DNAngel, Ghost Hunt, Kyo Kara Maoh and Saiyuki. I am trying to come up with an acceptable finish to chapter 4 of "Paths of Righteousness", that will hopefully lead into either a Chapter 5, or "Blind Game Again".
And this coming week I need to work on both the "Pentecost Sunday" bulletin and the June newsletter.
