Ooh. That's where we're going to go with this episode. It's a tough one all around for everyone involved! It's the start of Noah's surgery and all does not go according to plan. Dun ... dun ... DUN ( Read more... )

I love (and agree with) the interpretation of Noah calling the image of Luke perfect in his dream, but let's pick apart the rest of it. Who are those other people? Are those balloons breasts? I know, I don't really want to watch that scene again, but like anything horrifying, if we take it apart, it loses some of its power.

This is the start of Luke becoming wishy-washy. He "can't go there" about Reid. It's easier to imagine that Reid has not changed for Luke, then to ponder that a real man wants him. I always felt like Luke was tough on Reid in so many of the coming scenes. Imagine if Reid were the one with an ex nearby? Luke would go crazy. But he expects Reid to deal with it all, even as he wavers over Noah... I dunno. Oh, Luke. Admit you are starving on the tiny Noah crumbs and go for that yummy Reid cake already.

"Wishy-washy"--yup, that's the best description. And I do agree that the Luke in the upcoming episodes is my least favorite because he is playing both guys in a way by not being completely honest with either Noah nor Reid about who he really wants or what he really feels.

Imagine if Reid were the one with an ex nearby? Luke would go crazy.

See, a lot of people assume this and rightfully so because let's face it, Luke is a drama queen, he is! And he reacts a lot more forcefully and intensely than Reid would. But Reid has his moments too in the next few episodes in the harsh way he speaks to Luke whenever he sees Nuke together.

I'm actually working on a fic (don't know if it's been done) where there is an ex of Reid's nearby during this time and Luke definitely has a hard time dealing with that. :)

I don't think it's fair to say Luke was being dishonest, and especially not to Reid. (He was less than honest with Noah, but that was mostly because Reid told him the truth could interfere with Noah's recovery ( ... )

I get what you're saying and I don't see Luke as dishonest (just a bit demanding /insensitive to Reid's feelings), but I think Luke did make some moves of Reid. Not overtly, but all the flirting and getting in his space and eye-sex- Luke was giving him signals! I don't see it as all just Reid making moves... I think Luke does more than just react.

Luke flirts with him and then when Reid actually ACTS on it- Luke gets freaked out...

If Noah had brain damage, how could you really tell?

Doogie sucks, Noah sucks. Katie is awesome, as is Reid of course. Jealous!Reid is hot. Luke is clueless but I love him anyhow, as does Reid. *G* Reid was great with Noah, even though Noah doesn't deserve it. That dream sequence was so embarrassingly bad.

LOVE Reid's quirky little smile during the banter with Doogie! RAWR

I loved that Reid chose to be amused by Chris' snark. And I actually liked Chris' comeback. Too bad it was prefaced by his trying to undermine Reid's confidence prior to an experimental surgery that Reid was going to perform. Why would a pediatrician feel the need to explain to a neurosurgeon that a particular brain surgery is risky? Then after Chris' 'oooh snap' comment, he ruins it be making that little, 'Right' comment after Reid's walking away like 'OOOOh, i told you'.

Not to mention, is undermining a surgeon's confidence (or attempting to) not actually dangerous to the patient? Psychological impact and all. To sum up: Chris = DOUCHE

To sum up: Chris = DOUCHE

And that's a medical diagnosis.

I'm going to go ahead and disagree with Katie and agree with Luke on their conversation with Reid. Is Reid changing and becoming more "human" as Kaite says? Yes, but at this point in his development I too would hold Katie and Jacob a lot more responsible for that change than Luke. I just don't think he and Luke had enough positive experiences together for Katie to make that kind of judgement yet. I mean, yeah they shared some great moments in Dallas but they just got back in town the day before so how would Katie even be able to witness this great change that's all due to Luke? Don't get me wrong, Reid will show a lot of that marshmallow center purely because of Luke later on, but I don't think Katie's correct here ( ... )

This is an interesting point. I do think that Katie and Bob are just as responsible for softening Reid's jerk edges as Luke. But I always took Katie's comment to mean that Reid's opening himself to love and that she's based this on the conversation she had with Reid about "the gay Bob and Kim". I'm probably putting more effort into the interpretation of the line than the writers meant though.
