Today's episode picks up right where the last one left off. Luke and Noah are at Al's and Reid's watching from outside, seething with burning jealousy because he wants those Snyder lips on his face, not Noah's ( Read more... )

It fits perfectly with Noah's personality: " *I* can do something and it's okay, but Luke isn't allowed to". The other thing is: out all the reasons Noah lists about why he likes Richard, only one ("He doesn't know the old me") relates to blindness. The rest are just personality quirks: easy to hang around, he doesn't hover, he's not pushy, no pressure (for sex, maybe?), no bad history, and someone who isn't Luke - which he doesn't deny. Yeah. Sounds like Noah is totally in love with Luke. They're the perfect match ( ... )

I don't like Reid saying "use your power to give me what I want" after continuously teasing Luke about it, but I guess that's why I like Reid. He's human. The panic attack of not being able to operate is really setting in, and maybe he's getting back at Luke for blackmailing him. He may not say the right thing, but he DOES the right thing. I'll take that over the reverse any day.

Totally -- Reid may not say the right (or nice) thing most of the time, but actions speak so much louder than words. Noah is all talk.

I don't think this is Reid getting back at Luke for how Luke brought him to Oakdale. I think it's his desperation to get help, and his growing connection with Luke. He's so drawn to Luke, even if it's still a bit subconscious. But we know he's wanted to kiss him for a while at this point. :D

Aw, see, the fight with Bob and Reid? THAT is lashing out - when you're about to save a patient and you're stopped, and then vicious words come out. It's not nice, and it's definitely not a smart move, but it's classic lashing out: loud, outraged, agitated outbursts. Noah's meticulous, almost calm attacks of Luke are anything but lashing.

Interesting analysis and, now that I think about it, most certainly true. Just makes Noah's motives in everything he says and does during this whole storyline that much....sinister.

So heartsickening to see Noah treat Luke with so much anger and disdain! Between the writing and JS's acting, it seems so clear that Noah actually hates Luke. The fact that he later acts surprised that Luke doesn't want to get back with him is so amazing. When he later says something like, "Are you really ready to give me, to give us, up?" it's a demonstration of how completely un-selfaware he is ( ... )

Re-watching this, I've decided to interpret Reid's anger at Bob as his feeling betrayed by him. Bob's been trying to be a mentor to Reid. When Reid tried to quit the neurowing after Mr. Judd made threats, Bob said that he'd have to go through him, that he protects his staff. Reid actually starts to trust Bob. Then Bob doesn't protect him. [I'm not saying that Bob could have done anything differently at this point].

Yup! Agree!

That's not a very big bag for enough chili and cornbread to feed both Luke and Reid. Maybe it's dehydrated cornbread and chili and will expand when water is added to it.

LOL! IKR? That tiny bag was supposed to have enough to feed two in it? With the way Reid eats? Oh, show.

Seriously. There are so many ways to play that scene, even as written, that would make Noah a more sympathetic character. Pleading, hesitant, doing everything in his power to NOT HURT LUKE. But as it's played, Noah despises Luke and everything he stands for. And it's an acting choice JS goes to over and over again.

Reid! Looking through the window! Awwww, I'm sure he wouldn't mind being the douche for that one moment just so he can feel Luke's lips on him.

Richard!

Jealous!Luke/Angry!Luke is so awesome.

"So I hover and I pressure you."
It's support, Luke, but this guy just doesn't get it. Good thing Reid does and he welcomes it.

Oh, and Noah's speech makes no sense.

I hate that Reid feels so alone when he thinks Bob ain't backing him.

"I haven't had more than a day off since I started med school."
Oh, Reid. Something tells me he starts taking lots of days off once he and Luke are together.

Without it, I truly don't have anything else to hold onto."YOU WILL, REID, YOU WILL ( ... )

And the little scene at the end with the chilli comment shows how relaxed they are becoming around each other.

They're like a freaking old married couple already, bickering about dinner and magazines. Sigh.

Reid couldn’t believe the crappy selection of magazines that Wade’s Bookshop had. It’s not like he was expecting to be able to find medical journals or anything. But the fact that the best selections that he could find were I Love Cats, Gardens and Guns and Model Airplane News was absolutely horrifying. He paid for the magazines with cash because he did not want them on his credit card records. He had hoped to find magazines that would help distract him on the flight. Distract him from the possibility that he might very well lose everything that mattered to him. And to distract him from Richie Rich. To distract him from fantasizing about why Richie Rich was doing so much for him. He didn’t know what the Hell was happening between the two of them. But something was. Something exciting and promising and terrifying. Or maybe it was all in Reid’s head. The man sometimes still seemed so tied up in knots over the boyfriend. The ungrateful boyfriend who treated him like crap. Why had Richie Rich put up with that garbage? It ( ... )

LOL the magazine selection! Reid thought about what a fool Noah Mayer was for throwing away a man like Luke. A man who loved so deeply and was so compassionate and generous. Who was fun and challenging and stubborn. What kind of an idiot would throw that away?

We know what kind of idiot! Luckily, Reid is no such idiot!

YAY! I actually was just thinking about what magazines Reid would buy and I came back over here and saw this--thank you!

Cute! Oh, and I love Reid's thoughts. :)

loved this! I've always wanted to know what Reid was thinking seeing Luke, and seeing Noah on a date. And now I know :)

You know, I never liked Squinty McDouche (h/t to mech_bull for the great nickname!), but this scene makes me SEETHE. How DARE Luke feel bad to hear his very recently ex-boyfriend has a date! Can't he just UNDERSTAND how much Noah needs someone who's FUN! And NICE! And EASY TO BE WITH ( ... )

Agree 1000 per cent with all your comments! Noah is such a complete and utter prick! And his hypocrisy later when he insists Reid stole his boyfriend, despite the fact he's out already DATING OTHER PEOPLE makes me raaage!

And Luke and Reid are totally MFEO! They complement each other and fit together better than Luke and Noah ever did or could.

Has anyone thought of the fact that Noah tells Luke Richard is "fun" and "easy to be with," while still blind. Yet on the day he totally regains his sight and sees Richard clearly for the first time, he wants to ditch him for the more aesthetically appealing Luke (after he gets his ride, of course)? Not that Richard isn't cute. I know it's a shallow comment, but I couldn't help it. The bottom line is that I can't stand Noah. I'm not one of these people who says they don't like what Noah does, but they like him. Frankly, I don't, and I don't understand why anyone would find the Luke/Noah pairing healthy. It's awful. Noah does = douche IMO. However, Reid, on the other hand, is sublime.

Noah treated Richard like crap too! In my more charitable moments I try to modify my Noah rage by echoing Luke's phrase that Luke and Noah were just not right for each other, but really, I don't know who Noah is "right" for. I'd want him far away from anyone I care anything at all about, that's for sure!
