"I'm going to Texas with you!"

Today's episode picks up right where the last one left off. Luke and Noah are at Al's and Reid's watching from outside, seething with burning jealousy because he wants those Snyder lips on his face, not Noah's ( Read more... )

The contrast in the way Luke interacts with Noah versus the way he interacts with Reid is really startling and dramatic in this episode ( ... )

I agree with you! I think the writers needed to work taht very point in here. Noah and Luke's relationship was given one more sincere attempt (by Luke), and now he is clearly free. Noah has thrown him away here. It's funny. In classic literature the blind man is usually the one who can truly "see." Not in this case! Noah is blind in every way.

It's Reid, of course, the supposed asshole, that will be the classic twist- turned into the hero. I would have liked less of that point beating us over the head later and just have Luke and Reid be together. I'd have picked hot sex and love over hero time any day... I don't think Reid needed redemption or to be a hero. I wish they had just let him love Luke!

Honestly, this would have made him the hero too. I mean, I'd argue that Luke finally having someone who loved him as much as he loved them is giving Luke a personal hero. Didn't Luke-the-character deserve that after everything? Didn't Chris-the-douche deserve whatever happened to him (in the classic case of hubris and people getting what's coming to them and all that) instead of his own personal hero? UGH.

smittle, your comments (on the rewatch and on fics) are always so insightful and intelligent and detailed. I agree with every single word you write, I pretty much think I always do. Thank you for voicing my thoughts better than I'd be able to. That is all. :)

Noah is such a douche. A DOUCHE!!! i love how it went from - if Luke has met someone it's okay, Noah having a date (OMG Richard!!!!! <33 Orchard OTP!) to Noah losing his memory and thinking he and Luke were still a couple. Reid's such a good guy he gave Noah several chances to try and repair things with Luke.

Luke manhandling Reidis so hot. XD and then going to Texas with him, because you know, Luke has so much experience dealing with Texas Medical Licensing board. it has nothing to do with him being hot for doctor and planning to seduce him in his hotel room with fresh from shower topless invitation XD

Grrrr. The first scene makes me hate Noah so, so much. Noah can date but when Luke and Reid get together, Reid "stole his boyfriend"? GAAAAAAH ( ... )

and he gives Luke a really long look like he's deciding that it's okay to like him, and maybe while they're gone he'll do something about it (which he does!).

:D:D:D:D:D He's all "OK, Mayer. You had your chance and you blew it. No more Mr. Nice Guy (or what passes for nice with Reid)."

Exactly. It's like, in that one moment Reid finally decides to give into his feelings for Luke because things with Luke and Noah are more over than he realized (since Noah's with another guy). ESS conveys so much with just a look. GUH.

I love this episode so such!! (But then, I do say that about a lot of LuRe episodes...) Anyway, I especially love how they contrast the Nuke dynamics with the Lure ones. Luke's (very many) faces are so different with Reid than with Noah. Even his voice is different. He's bouncing and joking and saying what he thinks. He's smiling and laughing. And he's taking charge, not asking Reid for permission to call Lucinda, make the arrangements, go to Texas with him...where as with Noah he was (as usual) waiting for Noah to be ready, waiting to see what Noah was doing, waiting, waiting, waiting...

And, of course, I love how we can see from the look on Reid's face at the end that he knows EXACTLY what's going on ("Luke putting his life on hold, waiting for Noah to come around.")

Noah is an asshole. Reid is hot. Not a difficult choice there, Luke!

Luke manhandling Reid...YES!

Reid's bringing the dramz.

"I truly don't have anything else to hold onto." Don't worry, Dr. McHottie...you're going to have Luke's hard body to hold onto soon enough. :D

"I need you." Music to Luke's ears.

"You call me MR. SNYDER for a reason." is one of my favorite LuRe lines for some reason...I don't know, there's just something kind of flirty about it.

I love Bob's man crush on Reid's "set of skills."

"I know you don't care about me; why would you?" I love Reid's fishing. :) He's got it so bad for Luke.

"We?" :D

They flirt and bicker like an old married couple.

Ya know when Reid sees Orchard, he's all "YES!" and fist pumping inside his head. :)

"I know you don't care about me; why would you?" I love Reid's fishing.

He does this a lot, especially when he refers to Noah as Luke's "boyfriend" in other episodes, even after Nuke had broken up--almost like he wanted Luke to confirm or deny it. And he also said something similar in the episode before this one, when he's looking over the plans with Luke (before Noah interrupts)--he says he appreciates what Luke's done for him (with the Judd thing) but that he knows he did it for Noah and not for him. It's like he wants Luke to say he's doing it for him!!! Awww.

Vulnerable, insecure Reid is the BEST. :D

He says it again in Dallas, and Luke answers with "I do. I care." N'awwwwwwwww...
