Today's episode picks up right where the last one left off. Luke and Noah are at Al's and Reid's watching from outside, seething with burning jealousy because he wants those Snyder lips on his face, not Noah's ( Read more... )

The contrast in the way Luke interacts with Noah versus the way he interacts with Reid is really startling and dramatic in this episode ( ... )

I agree with you! I think the writers needed to work taht very point in here. Noah and Luke's relationship was given one more sincere attempt (by Luke), and now he is clearly free. Noah has thrown him away here. It's funny. In classic literature the blind man is usually the one who can truly "see." Not in this case! Noah is blind in every way.

It's Reid, of course, the supposed asshole, that will be the classic twist- turned into the hero. I would have liked less of that point beating us over the head later and just have Luke and Reid be together. I'd have picked hot sex and love over hero time any day... I don't think Reid needed redemption or to be a hero. I wish they had just let him love Luke!

Honestly, this would have made him the hero too. I mean, I'd argue that Luke finally having someone who loved him as much as he loved them is giving Luke a personal hero. Didn't Luke-the-character deserve that after everything? Didn't Chris-the-douche deserve whatever happened to him (in the classic case of hubris and people getting what's coming to them and all that) instead of his own personal hero? UGH.

smittle, your comments (on the rewatch and on fics) are always so insightful and intelligent and detailed. I agree with every single word you write, I pretty much think I always do. Thank you for voicing my thoughts better than I'd be able to. That is all. :)

Aw, what a sweet thing to say! I enjoy your comments very much as well. It's amazing how much we all still have to say about this fictional couple that we had so very little time with!
