This morning I was tired and in a rush. So I opened a pack of instant oatmeal, and instead of taking the time to boil water, I used coffee.

It was... not so good.

Slavoj Žižek is speaking here in a few weeks! He's like a theory rockstar. Apparently he sweats and spits a lot while he speaks. I'll have to avoid the front row.

I handed back my class' first essay this week. I felt like I was breaking up with them. Apparently the honeymoon is over.

Chris and I managed to snag tickets to see Alice in Chains in Seattle on November 24. We already have our hotel booked. I'm excited beyond belief. The fanclub pre-sale tickets sold out in 15 seconds, but the regular tickets went on sale on Ticketmaster 5 days later and I actually got a pair, due to an allstar performance with the "refresh" button ( Read more... )

so I don't know if anyone else is hooked on Rockstar: Supernova, but Dilana's cover of the Police's "Roxanne" was seriously the best performance I have ever heard in my entire life. I got goosebumps. today i bought tickets online to see Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the Afro-Cuban All-Stars and Rancid in the next two months. Vancouver is a very pleasing city indeed. Chris and I start our drive on Friday the 18th, and we'll be there by the 21st. The Pacific National Exhibition will be there when Chris' family comes, too. Good times should be had by

today I went for a 31 km bike ride. The last km was downhill, thank goodness.
I rode from work home to Kakabeka. My eyes were full of dirt by the end.
