I don't think Irvine returns to Galbadia. I always got the feeling that Irvine was a loner, not because he was weird or anything but because he felt he was "too cool" for everyone else. Now that he finally has some friends, I think he would want to stay in Balamb.

As far as Irvine and Selphie being a couple, well, I perfer not to think of them that way, but I don't like Selphie at all, so that's pretty much my reasoning!

Yeah I agree. The idea of him returning doesn't seem to be all that realistic. Lol, the idea of Irvine being "too cool" is funny. But I think I see what you are trying to say. :)

Heh and I thought Rinoa was the one who was disliked. It's like Quistis is the most popular FF8 female character, lol. :) But Selphie isn't that bad, but Rinoa...that's a different story. :P

Thanks for commenting. ;)

I think he would stay at Balamb after everything he went through with the others.

I would like to think that he and Selphie eventually got together, but I think it would take a lot of work. I think he would need to prove he really cared about her, after all he is a womaniser.

I feel the same way about the matter. It just wouldn't feel right if he just walked away as if nothing happened.

LOL! Yeah Irvine does have a few things to work on if he wants to date Selphie. It's just hard for me to imagine him being loyal to her if they were a couple, but I guess it's quite possible. :)

I support Irvine x Selphie. And I'm not sure if Irvine is so much a womaniser as someone who just generically flirts but doesn't take it much further, y'know? But I do think Irvine would stay at Balamb - he hasn't got much reason to return to Galbadia.

Oh, and regarding Seifer. I personally think he'd get together with Quistis, eventually - they've got a lot of traits in common. ^^

Hey that's pretty neat that you support Irvine x Selphie. Even if I can't fully see it...I'd imagine it would still be a very interesting couple.

But I'm with you about Irvine staying at Balamb Garden. ;)

Now that's a couple I never really considered and I love the idea. Quistis and Seifer do have this mutual relationship, now that I think of it. Who knows? Maybe those two will hook up someday. I can really see it happening. :D

They'd have very pretty children. But well, Quistis and Seifer - there's this insecurity within the both of them, and they also seem intelligent enough to match each other (I know this sounds superficial, but it's one of those things that counts for me). They're both accomplished, and they both have this odd sense of honour that they keep trying to hide.

Except that they're different enough to keep things interesting. :P

I wouldn’t consider Seifer to be “cold and twisted.” His original idea of being a sorceress’s knight wasn’t like how it was displayed during the game. Seifer never had intentions to blowup other schools, kidnap or even battle Squall in an antagonistic kind of way. We have to keep in mind that Seifer’s idea of being a knight was a “romantic” point of view. His knighthood with Ultimecia obviously wasn’t a romantic one, nor was it a heroic. So one could say that Squall achieved Seifer’s romantic dream. I’d imagine that Seifer wanted to date a sorceress around his age, protect her, and simply act as her knight. Being a threat to the world was never really Seifer’s intentions ( ... )

Well.. I dunno about that stuff about his Romantic dream.
Seifer's a complicated character, but I stand by the simple fact that he is a jerk.

Uhmm let me think for a moment here and gather my thoughts.

You like to come up with your own personal theory as ( ... )

Irvine flirts, but doesn't go much further than that. He genuinely has feelings for Selphie. During the flashback at Trabia, he recalls the one special girl who made his life there wonderful. He doesn't even mention Quistis until Quistis remembers, because he wanted Selphie to remember him more ( ... )

Oh, and Ellone was taken by Esthar and Laguna searched for her before Squall was born. Squall was separated from Ellone when Cid and Edea put her on that ship.

Oh, Snap. XD

I dare say you're correct. I got that bit mixed up. Looks like I have some minor corrections in teh ficcy to correct.

guess all of the other times he flirted with other women would fail to compare to the affection he displayed for Selphie. I admit that I noticed Irvine going the extra mile to impress Selphie ( ... )

Ah, yes, it slipped my mind that he remembered her. Clearly, I too must go back and play the game again. Oops. Yeah, you're right; he didn't want to shoot Edea. I think it was said that Squall and company were handed the mission just because they happened to show up at that time, but Irvine was probably lined up for it (however, I still don't think he and Martine probably got along too well; you wouldn't gesture shooting a person you respected). NORG said it, but I think it was true because no one would have known the SeeDs were going to be at Galbadia Garden until the moment they arrived.

I am going to get started on that timeline right away, and maybe I'll replay the game again just to make sure I get everything right.
