Hey everybody, I'm back. Please forgive me for taking so long to respond to your comment in my last entry. Work has been very hectic and I have been buying all of these new school supplies for my next semester coming up soon. So it feels great to be back and updating again ( Read more... )

Irvine flirts, but doesn't go much further than that. He genuinely has feelings for Selphie. During the flashback at Trabia, he recalls the one special girl who made his life there wonderful. He doesn't even mention Quistis until Quistis remembers, because he wanted Selphie to remember him more ( ... )

Oh, and Ellone was taken by Esthar and Laguna searched for her before Squall was born. Squall was separated from Ellone when Cid and Edea put her on that ship.

Oh, Snap. XD

I dare say you're correct. I got that bit mixed up. Looks like I have some minor corrections in teh ficcy to correct.

guess all of the other times he flirted with other women would fail to compare to the affection he displayed for Selphie. I admit that I noticed Irvine going the extra mile to impress Selphie ( ... )

Ah, yes, it slipped my mind that he remembered her. Clearly, I too must go back and play the game again. Oops. Yeah, you're right; he didn't want to shoot Edea. I think it was said that Squall and company were handed the mission just because they happened to show up at that time, but Irvine was probably lined up for it (however, I still don't think he and Martine probably got along too well; you wouldn't gesture shooting a person you respected). NORG said it, but I think it was true because no one would have known the SeeDs were going to be at Galbadia Garden until the moment they arrived.

I am going to get started on that timeline right away, and maybe I'll replay the game again just to make sure I get everything right.

I kind of feel like Martine picked Irvine to just get rid of him. Martine should have known if Irvine was the type to choke under pressure.

I don't think that's true. Assassination of a Sorceress is a pretty big thing to be undergoing, and Martine wouldn't risk failure by sending someone who would choke.

Irvine must've really actually been a good sharpshooter, or Martine wouldn't have sent him. It was pure chance that he ended up with his old orphanage gang and had to shoot at his Matron.

The reason Irvine choked was because of who he was aiming at. He was trying to kill the woman who raised him until he left. Him saying he choked under pressure was an excuse. He noticed that none of the others recognized him and he probably felt awkward saying, "that's the woman who raised all of us we're trying to kill here, not that you guys seem to remember." But his shot really was dead on, (Squall says this to him later on) even if he didn't hesitate, Edea would've still blocked the bullet.
