try lane bryant when they have a half off sale-think they do now. ive started to buy shrug (but not the short ones). comfy and not confining like a jacket. i agree with you 1000% about sleeves. dont get me started about jeggings :-)
Does Lane Bryant have regular sizes? (I know they have plus sizes, but don't know about regular). I'm finally in regular sizes (although the largest ones, thanks to the girls), that nice awkward place between women's and misses, but unfortunately ALL SLEEVES HAVE DISAPPEARED and now that fifty is the new thirty (and a wild, crazy, slutty thirty), regular sleeves are non-existent.
I would probably have had better luck at Penney's, but Penney's is an hour long schlep one way. Kmart is also an option, but I gave up WalMart as hopeless years ago. You have to love WalMart, a store that refused to carry 'Redbook' as too controversial, but refuses to carry women's clothes with sleeves.
Congratulations! - I didn't know you'd dropped down to Missus. Lane Bryant is just for big gals (although I buy bras there no matter my size because they are the best in the western world :-). Sometimes they carry size 12, but only online.
My only suggestion then is Ross or Kohl's - don't know if they are in Sooty City or not.
We do have Kohl's but not in a convenient location to reach by bus, but I usually go there when I visit others (like ceria_taliesin. I've seen commercials for Ross, but have never seen one so they must be at the outlying malls.
However, I've found they carry many of the same lines as Penney's and Burlington Coat Factory (the latter of which has a three story store downtown which I always forget about when I need clothes).
That's also a good tip about the bras. I'll have to try Lane Bryant again. I'm reaching the stage of back size/cup size mismatch, which is annoying to say the least.
