Another Orwellian moment.
I just happened to catch some CNN this afternoon and it seems that New York City is the first city to pass a total ban on resturants serving 'Trans-fats', you know the ones that destroy your arteries and give you heart-attacks. Tis the season.
Got my Ulmo christmas cards out this morning. Next trick, getting the packages out. Hopefully by the end of the week everything will be on its way and I'll be done with my end of Christmas, except for a few gift cards sent over the 'net. What is it when you walk in to like a 'Staples' or 'Office Depot' and you wander down the aisle with reams and stacks of notebooks, journals, post-it notes and all of them pristine just waiting for you to take one home?? I didn't do anything of social, environmental, spiritual or humanitarian value today. It was just one of those days. I turned into sloth-woman! Creepy shit.
I swear, I can wierd and creep myself out in a milli-second. The area we live in is really lovely to live in and walk around. Its one of the older neighborhoods in town, very middle-class suburban. I'm sitting here looking at the remaining 4 packs of smokes in my carton. Its time. Bob and I decided we are gonna try to quit. I've been smoking since I was 16 ( yeah, yeah...I don't wanna hear it ), I'm 45 now. Bob even longer. He has tried before, a few times. He's tried cold-turkey, the patch, the gum, even hypnosis. Weekends just go to fast. Went to a great craft fair yesterday in Savannah. Over three hundred vendors, some amazing orginal art work along with the usual dreck and fluff.
