Got my Ulmo christmas cards out this morning. Next trick, getting the packages out. Hopefully by the end of the week everything will be on its way and I'll be done with my end of Christmas, except for a few gift cards sent over the 'net. As I write this I think of poor Elaine slaving in Sauron's pits and feel guilty ( well sorta...tee heee) No really, I do.
I was watching a commercial for a Visa check card today. Don't know if you've seen this one yet but it takes place in one of those cafeteria style eateries and everyone is jetting around ordering, getting and taking food like little robots. At the checkout everyone is using there check card to pay, except one guy. He used cash ( God forbid!) and the whole place grinds to a halt while he waits for his change. But what really gets me is that all the good robotic folks are looking at this guy like he just gutted a small child in front of them! I mean really, since when has it become evil to use a dollar bill instead of plastic! I know its convienent, easy, blah..blah..blah..but let us not cast disparaging looks at those of us ( like me ) who use 'real' money! I don't even OWN a check/debit card and have NEVER used an ATM, nor will I ever. I use my checking account to pay bills - thats it. Everything else - groceries, gas, food, goodies - I use cash! So sue me!
