I will no longer be posting in this journal. Or anywhere else for that matter, aside from occasional comments in some of the communities I watch. I am not deleting it. I really wish there was a better job market for anthropologists. I love anthropology and studying it. It mixes so well with my fondness for history and human behavior.

I am going into the fourth month of crippling pain. Two of the herniated discs in my back have ruptured, making moving a breathtaking sort of agony I can't really explain. My every relaxation method is finding ways to become inviable or incredibly painful. I went fishing, had to cross a lot of rocks barefoot to do it, and ripped my feet to bloody ribbons. Adding this to the usual tango of back pain and migraines, it hurts to even think about moving ( Read more... )

Sometimes it feels like my value as a friend is limited to how much I can enthuse after someone else's interests, or comfort them when they're upset.
