classifieds stink

I'm scanning the classifieds section of the newspaper online again. If I read "team player with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment" one more time, I think I am going to hurt someone.

the most interesting classified are in the globe and mail. by interesting i mean they like to use lonnnnnnnnnnng words

I can't stand corporate buzz words. I can't. They make me feel like the people using them are completely dishonest, non-credible, disingenuous fat heads who buy the clothes and talk the talk but have no other noteworthy qualities. They are obsessed with appearances (i.e., the appearance of professionalism) and when questioned about their intent when using such language they are generally at a loss to explain themselves.

It is normal and natural for specialised forums to practice an economy of language and steer toward specialised vocabulary , I can't argue against that. However, in most forums, specialised vocabulary actually means something ( ... )

Thanks for your comment. I hope you are right about this generation turning things around.

Your description of how you handled the boss's question made me smile, and if memory serves it's been the only real one of the workday.
