It's a shame that the ratings have apparently been terrible, because I would have enjoyed seeing this become a regular series. Or at least seeing another six or twelve episodes ( spoilers )
Eep the ratings are bad... I was hoping we'd get more. Maybe they'll bring it back anyway. It's SO GOOD! USA has a lot of hits, it can afford it (yeah like i know.)
Haven't watched yet, but had to peek in... TJ will play the piano at the end, this I like ♥
I imagine if it were overwhelmingly successful with critics it might get renewed despite low ratings, but I think after the first positive set of reviews, it's mostly been mixed. I don't really know, but I would definitely watch more.
Wow, I just assumed that critics and viewers were loving on this because...how could you not? I hope it gets some more eps even if it is just another limited event type thing.
I love Margaret. How she deals with her grandkids is great. Calling your child (or grandchild) a "little shit" isn't likely to win points with me but she just seems to make it work. That takes chops.
Margaret is awesome! I mean, if it went on, she'd probably need a little more characterization that wasn't calling her grandkids on their shit, but I'm happy to have gotten that.
I think critics think it's too soapy? I don't know.
i actually had a hand-over-mouth-i-can't-believe-they-did-that moment when they killed garcetti. (i'd decided by then that the accident would be douglas and anne getting broadsided or something on their way to elope, because tj was just too obvious.) also i really liked tj and douglas talking about being kids and their summer on the farm - and that douglas had that photo of them - and i liked that tj figured out where douglas and anne had eloped to.
but i didn't quite buy that the secretary of state could just up and vanish to her son's surprise wedding in the middle of such a government catastrophe.
i wasn't sure how i felt about the newspaper stuff either, altho i did think susan was kind of an idiot, or at least had really miscalculated, for showing the resignation letter to georgia and expecting georgia to just sit on it. props to alex for realizing he'd screwed up, tho.
i'm bummed the ratings weren't good - i'd love another six episodes of elaine manipulating all the politicians around her.

Yes! I'd been worrying about Anne and Douglas and then, boom! It was Garcetti!

Yeah, that strained credulity a little, but I think that it was within driving distance of DC, and she was heading back right after so I was willing to handwave.
i'd love another six episodes of elaine manipulating all the politicians around her
Seriously! And more of her weird relationship with Susan.

Suggestion? Trail the thought off. Like so . . .
Just makes it more clear what you have in mind.
Hope you don't mind the suggestion.
