I am intrigued by the cherry dessert cake-thingy. What size pan did you use?
Also, I saw Eddie Vedder playing the ukelele on Letterman last night, and I was prepared to laugh/cringe/change the channel, and it was GREAT. Sorry I doubted you, Eddie! Also, he patted Dave on the ass, which amused me.
And man, 20th anniversary of Pearl Jam? WHEN DID WE GET SO ANCIENT?! I remember seeing them on a Lollapalooza tour, and how old am I that I a) remember when Lollapalooza toured and b) can't remember if that was the first or second tour. Hahaha omg I need my cane.
I used a 7x11" pan (the recipe recommended 7x10" and I don't know how she fit all the batter into it, because mine was full to the brim); I think for ease of putting it in the oven without fear of spilling, a 9x13" might work.

Yeah, the reviews have been surprisingly positive! It's just such an odd choice to make.

hee! It must have been the second one, 'cause I saw NIN and Jane's headline the first one.
It really is ridiculous how much time has passed. Who said that could happen? I DID NOT APPROVE THIS!
Yeah, it took years for me to be able to listen to it, but I'm okay with it now. One good thing about never listening to the radio anymore is that I can control how often I hear things!
Heh. Yeah, I mostly listen to it in short stints in other people's cars. I do listen to the news on the radio every morning for about 20 minutes as I get ready for work, but that's it.
I can't believe Cameron Crowe is doing a 20th anniversary documentary retrospective on Pearl Jam. I feel really old now.
Apologies if I've told you this story before, but in early 1992 my then-supervisor (of RA's in the dorms), said to us, "There's a great band playing at the R&R Station on Thursday, does anyone want to go?"
(Side note: She had seen REM play in 1981 at the campus Stock Pavilion, when there were 100 people in the audience. So we were used to her knowing what was going on indie-musically. Also, "Stock Pavilion" is not a music venue so much as it is the barn where the University keeps its herd of dairy cattle.)
Anyway, I was all, "Oh, I can't really afford it right now, and I have an exam the next day." R said, "Are you sure? They're really good, it's a band called Pearl Jam."
I skipped the show, and the next day (after my stupid exam) I got to hear a bunch of people talking about how great the show was, and how they got to meet the lead singer, meow meow meow. And six months later they were, y'know, Pearl Jam. I'm
( ... )
No, I don't believe you ever did tell me that story. Oh man, I would so be kicking myself after that. I've seen them twice (or is it three times? no, I think twice is correct) and they were excellent both times, but neither was until after they were famous.
