*novels dutifully added to watch/basket at both Amazons* If what Russell semi-joked about during the podcast for TND is any indication, I wouldn't necessarily assume these are the last Ten books. I could easily see the BBC taking up the old 'Missing Adventures' mantle and continuing to publish Ten-era books so long as they're popular. If they can keep churning out Martha books well after that ship has sailed, I don't know why they'd abandon Ten so quickly.
*still irritated they wasted a Donna novel on crap that happened during the third series, can you tell?*
I can see why they mightn't want to open up a Ten II/Rose can of worms, but I'd love to see those become books or audios or both. Same thing with what Rose was going through leading up to Turn Left.

Unfortunately, there's precedent. They switched over to Ten fairly quickly, and given what I know now about Moffatt, I think it's a fairly good bet that the switch will be made next January, or there won't be a release at that time.

From what I've read, there's been TONS of letters, but the main opposition is seemingly coming from DT. Not sure why.
I had heard it was an issue on the end of the potential broadcaster, but who knows? If Sir Ian McKellen was willing to do Lear, I don't know why DT wouldn't be willing to do a filmed Hamlet or LLL.
Has anyone said what the filming schedule will be? I was under the assumption that everything would be filmed together.
The Easter special starts filming 19 January. I've seen/heard nothing to indicate anything other than the Easter special is being filmed at that time, although I certainly don't work for the Beeb.

Dunno. I have no idea what the hangup involves, but it looks like there's going to be massive finger-pointing.

I dunno - it really wouldn't make economic sense to break up the filming, or have two units working after filming starts in July for S5. *ponders*
That's supposed to be Jack's line! ;)Har, har. At least it's the left. Life was pretty miserable when my right hand (I see another pun coming in my very near future - actually two.

I was wondering! That mention went by awfully fast. "La, hurt my wrist a little, MOVING RIGHT ALONG..." and then a couple of months later you're talking surgery. Ack! And waiting till March??
It's a chronic thing. I had surgery on the right wrist in March 2004, and then again in March 2005 for cyst removal. The injury to the left is very similar, unfortunately. Hurts like the dickens. My mother is tentatively scheduled to undergo knee replacement on Feb 12th, and I'm going to make an attempt to ditch work to fly home to help out, so if I do, I really can't afford to be non-weight bearing in that hand (ie splinted for two weeks after the surgery, then non-weight bearing for another 2 - 4 weeks). So, yeah... March. March is apparently a good month to have wrist surgery.
Well, as I said elsewhere, everyone was very nice to each other and I think polite to David too on Wednesday. Yes we were packed in, but there was no pushing or shoving, when he came out we were calling out that he was great or fantastic. And when he said that was enough and went to the car, we called out to say thanks. Yes we are desperate to see him, but I think we were pretty good that night - I'm sorry people got ott on other nights, though tbh I didn't see anything that terrible in that article!
I'm glad it was ok on the night you went. I gather from the coverage/reviews in regards to last night and Thurs night, that not everyone was as well-behaved. *is very envious*
As I recall, there is a quote from Tennant (at the stage door in Stratford) saying he didn't see the point to a DVD as that would invalidate the "theater experience."
So ... that may be where some of the finger-pointing is coming from.
Was going to do an update last night, but ended up reading and falling asleep.
X-ray was negative for pneumonia, so that's cleared up. But ... asthmatic bronchitis still in full force, so he switched my antibiotic to yet another wide-spectrum and put me on a heavier dose of Prednesone (god, and I said I'd never take that stuff again -- urg, bet I get moon-face). I feel enough better today after two days of it (I think I started at 60 mg and am at 40 today) that I actually got up by 2pm (which ain't bad given I hadn't fallen asleep till 6am) and have been playing Warcraft this evening. :)
I guess I'm getting better since I feel like killing things, eh? Hah!
So sorry to hear about your wrist! What sort of operation are they looking at?
Urg. You have roid rage! *grins* I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.
Cystectomy, most likely. I don't think it's tendon rupture, but I can't rule it out either. I managed to tweak the digitis indicis minimus in training, but that was an obvious deficit in the range of motion. I had a cystectomy of the right wrist in 2003 and again in 2004, so that's what it is, most likely. Just on the other side, this time.

Plus, it's difficult to type one-handed.
