Parker had intended to spend today reading a book and chilling out. Trying to just relax.

Angelica Demesnes books clucking at her from her trunk had her slamming the lid down and heading into the common room. Where she proceeded to veg out on TV and the next-to-last Supers.

Conner came into the living room with his laptop, looking disturbed.

"Does anyone believe me now that books are scary?"

"Fandom books? I've known that since I worked at the Library." Parker pulled a leg up and gave Conner a bemused smile over her knee. "So. When do they start sending people to work on the school, do you think?"

"No idea." Conner shrugged and booted up the laptop. "I was all set to go do that today, but it kinda didn't happen, and I haven't heard. When are you booking out of here?"

"Sunday. I thought it would be Saturday, but there's been some delay in Moscow." Not that it was a surprise. Just annoying. "It's weird, being here without classes, and watching all the new kids go scurrying around."

Having seen her yearbook peck its way around her floor earlier, when Jaye comes in the living room, she just points at the book and says, "Bawk."

"Chirp," Parker greeted her back, nodding. "Cheep." Then shook her head. "I think I'm leaving this place just in time. This is way too normal to me."

"I went twenty minutes with one in my alcove before I even noticed it," she says. "I feel very old, and possibly wizened."

"Yeah. I don't even want to freak out the new kids. Not worth it. Fandom will do a much better job than I can, anyway." She cocked her head. "If it's any consolation, you have great skin for someone who's wizened."

"Mmkay, so, book-related weirdness follows me out of the library," Zero said. "Good to know!"

"As long as it doesn't follow us off the Island, I'm gonna call it even," Parker said, shaking her head. "Hey. You keeping busy? Or loafing like I am?"

"Eh, I was thinkin' of terrorizin' some of the workshop leaders who might not mind like the one played by me," Zero said with a shrug. "I hope it doesn't follow us, but I'll miss being a kitten."

Parker snickered, looking entertained. "Come and find me and drag me along on one of those. It's not like I have anything better to do. The visit to see River's homeworld fell through; her family there is having some kind of crisis. So I'm at loose ends." She cocked her head. "And it would be fun for the new kids if you did turn into a kitten, you know."
