I've been lifting weights pretty regularly this year. It feels oddly like a subtle betrayal of my social class. Gentlemen do not use free weights! I just spent the past hour or so unpacking my small handbag. How can that be, you ask? Unfortunately, that's classified, but I spent the time thinking about how it's our patriotic duty as Americans to spend our time imagining worst-case scenarios.

So, I flew yesterday, on the day of the big fluids-on-a-plane fiasco. The security people at the Austin airport pretty clearly thought the entire thing was kind of silly. I ran a huge experiment this weekend, so this morning my office was even more of a mess than usual. While procrastinating tidying up, I accidentally spilled the tail end of some two day old tea onto the carpet.
