[After seeing Moguo's video of Lunatic Pandora, Quistis quickly makes a post of her own, looking concerned but under control. Her tone is curt; the feed is primarily directed towards her fellow members of SeeD, but she has decided to leave it open to all interested parties just in case. With Lunatic Pandora on the move, it's going to effect a lot ( Read more... )

No need to apologize. There are even people in our world who don't know what it is or what it does. There aren't as many hard facts about it as I would like, but it was unearthed during the Sorceress War several years back. It's said to have fallen from the moon during the Lunar Cry that destroyed Centra.

When Lunatic Pandora is in the proper alignment with the moon, it induces the Lunar Cry, summoning an enormous tide of monsters to -- well, in this case, Gaia. Very bad news.

Again, apologies not necessary.

In our world, it summons monsters from the moon. Gaia has two moons. Reason enough for concern, even though no two worlds are the same. Even if there are no monsters to be summoned, it's possible that Lunatic Pandora could still cause something catastrophic.

Wait, so... The crazy saucepan thing's gonna cry?

... no, it's going to induce the Lunar Cry. It's going to summon monsters. Lots of monsters.

...yikes. Sounds like bad news.

Very bad. If we could tell where it was heading, it might help, but I don't know Gaia well enough to even estimate a guess.

[Ursula frowns in thought.]

I don't know if we have time, but we have to try, don't we?

Absolutely. Squall and the other members of SeeD have all been inside before, but getting in isn't easy. [Selphie had to crash the Ragnarok into it. Method might be worth trying twice...]

Oh, you've been inside? What sort of defenses does it have?

At the time, it was full to the brim with Galbadian troops, as well as monsters. We don't have to worry about the former here, at least. There are also a number of locked doors and other high-tech security in place, but they can be worked around. We made our way through without them giving us too much trouble. Who knows if the locks are even still functional?

There must be means. This world has suffered tragedies enough. It needs no more.

It's been boarded before, there must be a way to do it again. If it passes through somewhere it can be easily reached...

It was in Madain Sari, yes? And it is now traveling south?

[She pauses to pull up the map.]

Perhaps Conde Petie, or the Hunter's Camp....

Oh! [Quistis feels silly. She forgot about the map.] If it's traveling close to directly south, then yes, it would be fairly easy to predict where it might pass through.

Excuse my uninformed status, but what exactly is the Lunatic Pandora and its consequences?

[Beatrix plays at the ends of her hair with a furrowed brow. Of course she's wondering just what the possibilities are of it passing over Alexandria.]

Lunatic Pandora is a structure that was unearthed in my homeworld over fifteen years ago, during the Sorceress War. It's origins are unknown, but it's said to have fallen from the moon during a Lunar Cry. Lunatic Pandora itself can induce the Lunar Cry, which summons a massive amount of monsters from the moon. [This sounds more and more ridiculous to her every time she says it. She frowns.]

It seems to be heading south.

[The literal translation of everything Quistis has said is... 'not good'.]

Can it be stopped?

[As this is the obvious question.]

We have to assume that it can be. We were unable to stop it when it caused the Lunar Cry in our world, and the city of Esthar was flooded with foreign monsters as a result. If not for Esthar's strong military, I don't think the city would have survived with as little damage as it did.
