[After seeing Moguo's video of Lunatic Pandora, Quistis quickly makes a post of her own, looking concerned but under control. Her tone is curt; the feed is primarily directed towards her fellow members of SeeD, but she has decided to leave it open to all interested parties just in case. With Lunatic Pandora on the move, it's going to effect a lot ( Read more... )

[Noah swears, low and heartfelt in three separate languages]

May Faram have mercy on us all. I don't suppose there would be a way to destroy the tower, would there? I believe you have dealt with this before. I have a premonition that I will be spending the next few weeks on monster cleanup duty.

So, as I am to understand, no one has actuly managed to stop his before?

[He may like Trepe, but business is business, and he isn't looking forward to monster mayhem. He also holds a sneaking suspicion that regardless of what efforts they undertake the Lunar Cry will happen anyways

We didn't find a way to destroy the last time, but we were urgently trying to press through to where Sorceress Adel was entombed in order to defeat her, which took priority at the time.

No one has stopped it before. The Lunar Cry brought monsters pouring down on the city of Esthar the last time Lunatic Pandora began to move. Just because we weren't able to stop it last time, however, doesn't mean it can't be stopped. We also had Galbadian soldiers fighting us every step of the way. More than a bit of a hindrance.

Granted. It will likely be less difficult if there is no army in the way.

Tell me more about the Pandora itself. Structure, systems, is it prone to moving on it's own or must there be manual instruction. Any possible motives behind it? I had been informed [by Ultimecia herself, but that's hardly important] that it was to a purose, and the monsters themselves were more of a side effect.

[Noah looks very intently focused, and he is clearly in his element. His brain is already organising likely motives and causes ad well as ranking them by various sets of probability and likelihood. For all that the job gave him a bad reputation, he is still the samean who was head of the ninth bureau. This us what he does, and for all that the realtors of it worry him, it is very nice to be back in familiar territory]

As far as it moving on its own, I'm not entirely sure. Last time, it was mobilized by the Galbadian Army in an attempt to use the Lunar Cry to bring Sorceress Adel's tomb down from the moon, and they succeeded. It existed before her time, so I don't know its initial purpose. There was manual instruction that time, and I suspect that Garland or Lufene is responsible this time around. They seem to be behind most everything.

The structure itself is primarily a crystal pillar with a number of security doors and locks in place, though we made our way around those with little trouble once we had boarded it. Most of them can be worked around, some were broken, and the keys to others were found within the structure.

[Irvine's face comes on, looking a bit rugged after a few days out of the Garden. But concern and worry is there]

I say we get the Ragnorok, blow a hole in that damn thing and stop once and for all.

A great idea if I ever heard one, Irvine. It worked as far as getting us onboard before. It seems many of Gaia's airships are too large and cumbersome to use in order to board Lunatic Pandora but -- wait. Do we have the Ragnaraok here?

[Nods] You bet it is! I'll make a B-Line back to the Garden as soon as possible, I'm not as experienced with flying that Bird like Selphie is, but I damn well know how to point and shoot at that ugly looking thing.

It's brash, but it worked for us before. Worth a try, right? We should wait until it's not over a town to shoot at it; we don't want any innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire.

This is bad, Quistis. If Gaia has a Tears' Point...

That's what I was thinking. If there's some place that works as a stand-in and puts Lunatic Pandora in proper alignment with the moon...

We have to stop this, Rinoa.

Exactly.

...Do you think Adel might be in there?

... I hope not, but we should be prepared. There's no telling when this Lunatic Pandora came from. It's entirely possible.

We won't let anything happen to you.

Lunatic Pandora? Lunar Cry?

[Cid scratches his head] I wish I could help, but I might need more detailed information on that. What are they?

Lunatic Pandora is a pillar or monolith that was unearthed in my homeworld several ago, during the Sorceress War. It's actual origins are unknown, but it's rumored to have fallen from the moon during a Lunar Cry and is said to be responsible for the destruction of Centra. When aligned properly with the moon, Lunatic Pandora itself can induce the Lunar Cry, which summons a massive tide of monsters from the moon. This is something we would like to avoid, it's destructive potential is phenomenal.

[Give Cid a second to soak all this in, before a sterner more serious face comes across him]

Such a thing exists now in Gaia? We have to stop it...Tell me, is there any aid you need from me!

We might need people with technological know-how on the inside! There are security doors and barriers set up throughout the interior.

We've boarded it before. I don't see why we won't be able to do it again.
