And also, why does that droid have a cough? Of all the things to go wrong with a droid, lung problems seem among the unlikeliest.

I asked Sara about this. She'd seen in a book at B&N that Grievous is a cyborg, so he's part-human. So I suppose they were trying to say "Look! There's something more to this robot than...robotics..." *shrug*

Ah - yeah, I wondered if it had something to do with the flesh-like organ we got a glimpse of, when Obi-Wan sliced him open. Not the most effective droid, then...susceptible to both kinds of viruses. *grin*

As in all things, the book was better at explaining everything. Grievous was in an accident (arranged by Palpatine and Dooku) that left him mangled and dying. He was "saved" by having his head and vital organs transferred to a robotic body.

Ohh, which would explain why he seemed to have a "heart" under all the metal during the fight with Obi-Wan!

I agree about Han. I mean, COME ON! He deserved at elats something in the movie.

Episode III was really really good, but I still think that it would have been better if we had stayed with the original trilogy and ONLY the original trilogy.

Ergh. It would have taken 20 seconds, Lucas! Throw us a crumb, here! *sigh* Oh well. Probably on his extended DVD version or something. :)

Did they go the same way as the plans to show Padme starting the rebellion? Which would apparently have been of no interest to anyone?

They decided to have her die in childbirth instead, and that gives Leia one of the msot amazing memory ever, because she supposedly remembers her some 20 years later.

The best character in that movie was R2D2.

I wanted little Han. I was happy with Baby!Luke and Baby!Leia.

I really wasn't impressed by the third installment, so the MST3K commentary never ceased amongst my group, It was more due to the constant watching of the Star Wars trailer subtitled in l33t over the past week or so, but nevertheless. Yeah.

R2 stays silent for the same reason that 3PO's memory is wiped in the first place: because Goldenrod could never keep his mouth shut.

Does anyone else agree with this schematic:
1)Make Anakin a teenager to begin with
2)Compress Ep I and II into one Ep I
3)Make Ep III -> Ep II
4)Create another movie about the creation of the Rebellion

Heck, it'd give more time for Padme to stick around before dying. And it would give Luke an excuse for having forgotten his mother, which he managed here despite having one whole minute more with her than his sister enjoyed.

I agree!

Especially since Obi-Wan says that when he first met Anakin, "He was already a great pilot". Now, I know some will argue that when he was 9 he was already a great pilot, but it would have worked if he had first met him when he was a teenager. it would make the age difference easier to work with too. And it would explain better how the Council disapproved of Obi-Wan trainking Anakin. It would have also been a nice parallel with Luke, some 30 years after his father, to get the same argument against him.

You forgot "Make Ep III an hour shorter". There's no reason it couldn't have been ninety minutes, except the guy who edited it couldn't bring in a movie under two hours if his life depended on it.

I totally agree with your formula, though. It would have worked much better.

I had just the opposite impression. I wish they'd LOTR'd it. I think he could have done a better job if he'd taken an extra hour to fill in all the bits he had to cut to fit what was by itself two movies into one.
