Despite everyone being sick or just depressed about the election, Christmas turned out fine. The music on Christmas Eve went well, even though we were missing a few people. This Saturday, it will be six months since my gallbladder was yeeted. My scar still looks gross. I still have weird "phantom" pains, plus the surrounding tissue is hard. And then I have that hernia that I'm getting repaired in ten days. I have to say, I had a much tougher recovery than I did from my hysterectomy six years ago. My digestive system ( Read more... )

Yes, I have to have hernia repair surgery again. At least this time, it will be outpatient, unless the surgeon has to switch from laparoscopic to open surgery. He says that it's a possibility because of my scar tissue and surgical history, but he's sure that won't happen. So I probably will go home the same day ( Read more... )

I passed the five year survival milestone. I'm still NED (no evidence of disease), and I only see my oncologist once a year. He says that I'm likely cancer-free and that the odds of recurrence are very unlikely. So as of last March, I'm an official five-year survivor ( Read more... )

Christmas is a week away! I'm not ready. Most of my cookies have been baked, but I still have more to do. It took forever to get everything decorated this year. I may have overdone the tree room!

My delayed mini Fuck Cancer celebration happened today. Mom and Dad didn't feel like going, but they gave me money to buy Kavi and her accessories! Katie took me up there.
