I'm starting to think that, maybe, people break themselves. Obviously it's far from a universal rule, but I've come to the conclusion that the vast majority of my current emotional damage is self-inflicted. It occurs to me, a little too late, that it was quite possibly a mistake to have a DVD night consisting of 3 different moderately-to-very depressing discs of two different anime series. Something I'd like to see more of, particularly in dramas and such. When, near the climax of the story, the latest big complication has just been dumped on the main character, s/he just breaks down laughing manically at the absurdity of so much crap smacking him/her around at once, freaking out everyone around him/her. Sometimes I am overwhelmed by the surreality of the technology around me. I just looked at my cell phone and it suddenly seemed the most alien thing I've ever seen. It's not even that fancy a phone; just calls and text, no cameras or MP3s or web-browsing. It's just... suddenly a cell phone was a very bizarre thing. -

Sometimes, I wish I could get out of the habit I have of waffling and hedging in my words. The ability to speak and write more confidently and directly would be nice. Used as a dumping ground for my stuff and, sometimes, other people's in much of that time.
