well-trained human

Lucy has decided she prefers eating with company. So she’ll chow down for a bit, but if she notices I’ve left the room, she comes looking for me. If I go back to the kitchen with her, she eats a bunch more. I am so very, very well-trained.

I went to see Star Trek for a third time today. I just love that movie. The opening scene made me cry. AGAIN. ( Read more... )

I loved the Tapes. They just linked back to the first movie so well.

I almost got the feeling that this was more of a Sequel to the original movie than any subsequent movie.

Gods, I loved Star Trek -- and the first scene makes me cry, too. My husband I have been discussing it almost nonstop for weeks. Not to mention the constant debates about whether a Sith dropped on the Enterprise would be able to take over/kill everyone, or if the crew would get him first. It usually falls into the Kirk tacticle advantage versus TNG's advanced technology. We put most of the DC and Marvel universes on the Enterprise, and that much varies. But we both agree that, no matter what, Batman Wins.

While you're totally right, Batman does of course win, I can't help slotting the Terminator film(s) into this now, because, well, John Connor is Batman!

A sith dropped on the Enterprise could easily be beamed into space on wide dispersion. Though granted, a lightsabre would probably do more damange than latterday phasers :D

I so want to see Star Trek again, but feel bad about dragging the offspring there too often. Maybe in two weeks when she's on holiday.

And whyyy is the Lion King so hopeless to find, at least in euro-format? I'm sure Cat would love it, but it hasn't been available for as long as she's been old enough to see it. She'll probably be a jaded teen and refuse to watch it at all by the time Disney decides to re-release. (First world problems, yes indeed...)

I've heard nothing but bad about that movie, yet I'm still determined to see it. Encouraging to know it had its moments for you!

*laughs* Yeah, that's kind of where I was too. There was no chance I *wouldn't* see it, but nothing I'd heard was encouraging. Possibly low expectations helped, but generally I thought it was a Terminator movie. It's like Fast & Furious, which Ted and I thoroughly enjoyed despite everybody panning it. I mean, come *on*. It's a Fast & Furious movie! What can you really want or expect out of it except fast cars, hot bodies, and explosions?
