This is U Bein's bridge, near Amarapura, which itself is close to Mandalay, Burma's second-largest city. According to Lonely Planet, U Bein's bridge is the longest teak structure in the world. It's over two hundred years old and almost a mile long, and crosses a shallow lake in which the locals like to take their water buffalo out for a swim. It's ( Read more... )

I made four different versions of this photo (which some of you have seen before, a long time ago), and can't for the life of me decide which one I like best. Yep, it's those infernal trees again, shot a few hours before yesterday's posts, and from a slightly different angle. I know some of you have already seen this photo, but I slightly improved it (I think), and felt the series wouldn't be complete without it.

Will you help me make up my mind, please? I made these two versions of the same photo, and can't decide which one I like best, or indeed if I really like either of them. The top one seems a little too drab to me, and the bottom one a little too warm, too shiny. What do you think?
