Classic Movies

For some time now I have been meaning to make a list of films that people consider to be a classic. By a classic I don't necessarily mean films that are from 1920. They're the films that you might say 'OMG YOU'VE NOT SEEN THAT?' to when discussing it with someone else. There are some films I haven't seen and some that I won't want to see, but I ( Read more... )

The 39 Steps (Hitchcock version)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (it isn't a horror despite the word being in the title. Better to see the live show though!)
Ghost :p (though you know the premise anyway. :-|)

...I've only seen one on your list. Woe.

I've already covered Schindler's List, ET and Jurassic Park (thank God because I hate dinosaur films now, haha). I think I've seen the Star Wars Trilogy too.

Indiana Jones is a must inclusion, as is Some Like It Hot, thanks!

Ooh and see Whale Rider, I own it actually, great story.

I have an aversion to James Bond films, probably because we share the same surname which has naturally created quite the annoying repetitive questions, lol.

Thank you!

Shawshank Redemption is my favorite movie! I wish I had suggestions for you, but I rarely watch movies!

There's two on your list so far which I haven't seen; Saving Private Ryan and Fame - when I'm running out of ideas of what films to watch I may come to your list for some inspiration :)

Pretty Woman
Robocop (which isn't horror but has some quite gory violence every now and then, although it's an 80's movie so that's the norm really)
The Terminator
Memento
The Godfather (I have yet to see it and I always get the OMG HOW?! reaction)
Dogma
Fight Club
Billy Elliot
The Silence of The Lambs (honestly more of a thriller than a horror I promise :P)
Pulp Fiction or anything by Tarantino in general - I've only seen two of his films and people always shout at me for not having watched them all.
Good Will Hunting
Good Morning, Vietnam
Requiem For A Dream and (like Tarantino) anything by Aronofsky in general.

.... and that's all I can think of at the moment. Good luck! :)

I managed to catch Pretty Woman a few years back, it was definitely up there until them, lol.

I'll definitely be adding some of those to the list! Thank you!
