I've talked a few times about my Beaver Scout group (6-8 year old Scouts) and how challenging some of the children are. I'm at a point where I'm so close to leaving but on Monday night we had a meeting with all of the leaders (and some other people) and I had to tell them everything we'd done over the course of the year. It really made me feel positive and happy about the group for the first time in months.
Tonight I went down there feeling happy to go, last week I literally got tears in my eyes when I found out my assistant couldn't come. I thought I was going to have to cancel (which I was thrilled to consider) but someone else was able to help at the last minute.
Anyway, my point here is that I am considering speaking to the woman who is the District Commissioner, she's basically in charge of several groups in my area and I've always had quite a good relationship with her. The only problem is that the leader of my specific group (he oversees the Scouts, Cubs and us Beavers) really clashes with this woman and on at least one occasion I was told that I should go to him, not the DC in regards to issues.
But right now I'm in a place where I want to talk to her about these troublesome children and see if there's any advice she can give. I also think I should inform her of my desire to leave the group. The thing is, is that there's another group where the Beaver Leader is wanting to leave which is already causing her additional work and she's not got a very good personal life at the moment (her husband has cancer) so it's all very complicated and confusing. I don't know whether I should speak to her and risk pissing off the group leader or just muddle through my final weeks and hope I can get out in July without feeling too guilty about leaving them in the lurch?!

Since I mentioned the books I hate, I will definitely have to say those. Henry's Leg and Wuthering Heights.
There are a few books which I'm not sure I'll be able to read again: The Pact by Jodi Picoult. It left me in a really weird place when I finished it, literally the only thing on my mind for a week before I cried my eyes out one evening and then it was gone from my mind.
Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo is a book I adored but it's a story I have a feeling I won't necessarily want to re-read...not sure how I'll handle the film when it comes out.
The same with Sarah's Key really, I want to read it, part of me would love to read it again. But I don't know.
Lastly, Sisterhood Everlasting by Ann Brashares. It's a book I'm on the fence about. The first half of the book I hated it but by the end it won me around. I'm still not sure how I'd feel about re-reading it though.
